Brooks OR Lowry (as long as we keep 1), Hill OR Scola (whichever they want), Battier, & one of our 1st round pick, and whatever other fillers it takes. Pretty much anything Toronto wants (outside of Yao or Martin)... I think that's a pretty fair offer.
Assuming Scola agrees to get traded to Toronto & Bosh wants to come to Houston, I would give up Scola+ Brooks+Battier+2011 NY pick(rights to swap) for Bosh... In addition, during the Draft I would trade our 2010 lottery pick + 2012 NY pick to move up in the Draft. To make sure we draft the player we want (Monroe, Whiteside, Cousins, Favors, etc...) -RB
The LA Clippers should try to bring Chris Bosh to LA to play alongside Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, Draft Pick, and Blake Griffin. Chris Bosh is good friends with Baron and if the Clippers orchestrate a sign and trade with Kaman and other pieces, than the Clippers will still have cap space to add more pieces to their roster... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aONeghUPvZA The Clippers also have great trade assets: Chris Kaman, the rights to a Minnesota first round pick which will be unprotected in 2012, Deandre Jordan, and the rights to Sofoklis Schortsanitis who would be great in Toronto's foreign player atmosphere...
Better than Scola in the NJ game? Do you watch the Rockets games? If you have missed the NJ game, this thread can help you out: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=183720
Let's see... he's a PG with the nickname Mr. Big Shot. So unless there was another PG creating a shot for him, I'd have to think he qualifies as a clutch ball handler. I think the team would be better off finding a shot creator than Bosh. Bosh is a great player, but if the Rockets really want to win championships they need someone who plays like a Nash, Paul, Deron Williams, Roy or Billups. These are guys who help win close games down the stretch.
I don't understand that at all. You honestly think LeBron's upside after this season is comparable to what McGrady gave us as a Rocket? The Rockets would give up Scola, Brooks, and probably a lot more to get their hands on LeBron James. Just consider the reverse: If you had a LeBron James on your team, would you even consider trading him for Scola and Brooks?
I voted for Scola and picks/Hill. However, I do not think that Brooks is untouchable, only that I'm not giving up two starters of the quality of Brooks/Scola.
In the past I was very happy with a Scola + Brooks + Picks for Bosh. But Scola has performed #s wise on par with Bosh (since Landry left), with 0 ego, and 1/3-1/2 contract size. I just can't see myself giving that much. I'd do Scola + picks + fillers because Bosh is younger, but god I'm having some trouble getting rid of Scola if he can perform like this.
I'm little bit baffled about the poll results I'm seeing here. If Bosh is the franchise level player everybody is desperately seeking, yes I would give Scola + Brooks + fillers for him. However, I'm still torn about the issue. He sure as hell isn't Lebron or Kobe or Dwade but I think he might be/ might become a player among the next echelon meaning most likely that he can be the best player on a championship caliber team BUT in that case he needs a lot of help around him. As seen in Toronto, he can't carry a team without a great supporting cast. If he indeed is all that, it would probably be stupid to balk at giving up Brooks in addition to Scola for him. How often in this league you really have a chance to acquire a franchise level player through a trade without giving one up in return? Borderline allstars (at best) like Brooks or Scola are great to have but they are a lot more easily replaceable than true franchise players particularly if you are willing to spend over the luxury tax line. With Morey at helm, I'm confident that he could replace his losses in a few years at maximum with the assets he has available even after the trade. Everybody seems to assume that Morey would never overpay for anything but I think that is not the truth. Morey would gladly overpay for talent if it gives the team a better chance of winning in the future. We don't need to win every battle in order to win the war. As it has been said, all this discussion about Luis Scola being included in a deal for Bosh is most likely purely academic in nature because even if Bosh wants to come here, we'll have great trouble signing and trading Scola for him. But IF we have a chance to do it and IF we deem Bosh to be the franchise player we need, we sure as hell should trade at least Scola and Brooks for him. If he is not at that level, trading for him at all is probably just not worth the asking prize.
Well, I was trying to gauge what people thought of Bosh's value. Not whether he could come here or not. It's my fault that I did not think about Scola's status. But at least it still gives an idea of what people think. I'm surprised the results are so evenly distributed.
