Do you know how Cavs get Rubio? They got him by trading Prince, whom we gave the Cavs for free last year.

I agree, but maybe they'll at least talk if we offer Green and two unprotected FRPs.

Mobley wouldn’t work out for us. Maybe just maybe he knew where he fit in best.

yeah. Elite basketball instinct on both ends as well as special physical gifts just don’t translate to other teams.

Or Mobley didn’t want anything to do with Houston.

it’s unfair to say hey maybe Mobley won’t improve as much as green and therefore, green still may be the right pick. The fair assumption is that both improve tremendously from their current output and skill set. still super early, but that scenario puts Mobley in the KG/Duncan territory while JG is likely on the jayson Tatum path. Both will be fine, but it looks now that Mobley has a clearer path to generational greatness. Jg can get there, but the flashes haven’t been nearly as loud or consistent as Mobley’s flashes.

we had the #2 pick. The choice was ours. Plus, you think Mobley wouldn’t like working with Hakeem?

Either dumb Patrick or dumb Tilman wanted JG because he’s the sexier near term pick. They paid no attention to what Mobley could bring long term.

I’m still a hardcore believer in JG, but it’s obvious that Mobley has had far louder and more frequent flashes of true KG/Duncan level greatness than JG. Don’t let our stupid org off the hook.

I wonder how Silas would've used Mobley. Maybe come off the bench and spot up 3's only.

C’mon. Rubio was a nice pick up and is a professional but no one was saying “Hey do you want to win another 20 games next year? Let’s get Rubio.” Last year he was on a 23-49 Twolves team.

Cleveland made their big comeback last night with a lineup with Mobley, Cedi Osman, Rubio, Denzel Valentine, and Dylan Windler and JB Bickerstaff as their coach. How bad would I have gotten flamed suggesting we trade KPJ, Wood, etc for those guys?

I agree the situation here is bad but this Mobley walked into a “great situation” stuff is a myth. He’s a huge part of why it’s a great situation and frankly Jalen is a big part of the dysfunction here. If you swapped him and Jalen (and maybe ditched KPJ at PG for Wall) I bet we’d be something like 5-7 and the Cavs would be like 4-10.

Jalen can of course close that gap over time but it’s not close right now.

Oh ok so thats what happened. I did see Schroeder tearing their big line up with a 20 point lead. Bickerstaff learned something .

He still can work with Hakeem if wanted to. Dream works with a lot of players. Remember he was born 10 years or so after Dream played. He may respect Hakeem but probably doesn’t hold him in highest regard as we Rocket fans do. If our biggest appeal is a retired player from 25 years ago that is no officially part of the organization, maybe he was right to stay away.

This thread kind of needs to end, it's irrelevant what we'd give up for Mobley, Cleveland wouldn't trade him for our entire roster.

If Jalen Green ends up being the wrong choice, people are really gonna just say it was Tilman and let Stone off scot-free huh?

Lemme guess, Stone has no responsibility for hiring Silas either?

    Right.

Rockets don't need a player that can take it to All Stars like Tatum.

A rook that was supposedly too skinny and too high assed and too limited on offense to make ANY impact THIS season.

Are we trying to gaslight ourselves now?

There are more than enough laughing stocks in NBA to go around.

Silas would have played Mobley as starter just like Green.

That is true lol. We clearly missed out on Mobley, now I’m just hoping Jalen can show us alittle more.

I personally don’t buy into anything involving $$ and seat filling being a factor. Like the people that complain they didn’t resign Ariza for big money. Ariza was pretty bad at that point. Even if he “should” have been resigned for culture or whatever I think DM made the ultimate decision.

I think Stone made the ultimate decision here. I don’t think he had any directive to “fill seats” or anything similar. And I don’t like Tilman.
