The thing Rockets should do is patiently wait for the draft order to play out. There's a ton of scenarios that opens up this summer depending on the draft order. I know people are tired of waiting, but oh well lol.

Probably what will happen, but sometimes you can take advantage of teams going all in on the tank - we should be looking at everything.

Tanking teams usually don't trade young rising stars like Lamelo. It's not like they're winning right now with Lamelo. They have the best odds at Wemby right now.

We should be. In terms of trades:

Green/Jabari would be used to lure the stars/superstars.

KPJ to be the carrot to fill out/balance the roster with veteran role players/players between role player and stars.

The carrot like someone will trade for him? Because he doesn't have trade value outside of being a filler on a team friendly contract to make salaries work.

if we are looking for PGs are there any like Lowry, guys that are backups but putting up solid numbers......someone that probably should be a starter.

KPJ ain’t that bad…. He’s your classic Dinwiddie/LaVert/Lou Williams spark plug.

I’m not a big KPJ guy but he does have his value…. Especially if he finishes the season with decent numbers and no “head case” behavior of leaving a game or anything.

If KPJ hasn't given you the incentive to see him as a starting PG moving forward after the last 2 games, nothing will.

Not many guards in the league will go through an entire game with NO turnovers. That's insane when you consider that he was playing on the road and the team he was going against.

I'm not saying KPJ is Magic, Isaiah or CP3 but he's improving and he's becoming more and more steady.

Maybe Caruso if Bulls decide to blow it up? or better yet Lonzo if he's able to get healthy.

I’m not irrational enough to prop up two consecutive games and pretend like this is KPJ now.

I just want people to take into account that basketball is harder than it seems on TV. LOL

Especially when you are going against other professional players who are getting paid and have just as much skill and experience. The Rockets are a young team, KPJ is only 2yrs in to playing a new position, with new and inexperienced players and for him to be as consistent, although not always perfect, as he has been, I don't think he's doing a bad job at all.

I think next yr we will see a vast difference in the team as a whole, if they can add more veterans.

Weird…. I don’t think the argument is that it’s harder to play in the NBA than watching it…. Goal posts moved.

In two years, Green will be averaging 30 points a game, a superstar and opportunities to be MVP…Ball will not

If green is to be the main facilitator, we don't need a ball dominant pg like lamelo. We just need a high IQ guy who plays good defense, good court vision and can be effective with low usage rate.

Maybe a rondo type of player who is a bit seasoned like 26-27 years of age.

That’s a pretty specific player. Who fits that profile in your mind?

I would love to pick up the Lakers 2023 or 2024 pick from the Pelicans. Happy to take on Devonte Graham and a filler for Gordon's expiring contract. Gordon would really help the Pelicans off the bench I think, would help them a lot in the playoffs.

Lets say he finishes the season with no issues. What do you realistically see a team giving up for him? A FRP?

If he keeps his numbers and is a good boy then he could fetch a protected, late FRP.

However, I view KPJ and his upcoming contract as more of a piece to trade for another player then a carrot try to accumulate assets/ a pick. He's on pretty team friendly contract to where you can move off of it if it doesn't work out or you just want to free up some cap space.

I don't have someone in my mind specifically. Marcus smart would be a good fit imho. He doesn't fit the description but I like Cameron payne as well. I'm also interested in seeing tyty develop and become more of a finished product in few years.
