Another year, another thread. I guess you can post whatever you want, but in order for me to count a post as a valid "vote," it will need to be in a basic format. Basically, you'll need to list at least 3 games and at most 10 games. Rank them from 1 to 10, leaving some spots blank if you want to indicate a gap in quality. For example: 1. LBP 3. MGS4 7. NBA 2K9 This person thought that LBP was most deserving of the "award," but also really enjoyed MGS4 and (to a lesser degree) NBA 2K9. LBP gets 10 pts, MGS4 gets 8 pts, and NBA 2K9 gets 4 pts. More examples can be found in the previous GOTY threads. Of course, I doubt anyone has played every game this year (or even every good game). If you want, you can list what games you didn't play that you think might have landed on your list, but this shouldn't be a big deal. FWIW, I didn't get a chance to play Fallout 3, Dead Space, Valkyria Chronicles, and a few other games. In fact, I'm still currently playing through one game that is definitely on my list, so I'll have to post my rankings a little later in the week...especially if I continue to be away from an Internet connection.
I really enjoyed Ace Combat -- second would be GTA -- definitely not the 'perfect' game that the reviewers went nutz over, but still pretty cool.
1) Persona 4 Err probably because I still don't have a 3rd generation system yet. I would vote for Tales of the Abyss but it's 2 years old but I just played it recently ;;
GTA (great replay value) Left 4 Dead hmmm......didn't play anything else new that is worthy of a mention.
From what I've played... 1) Dead Space 2) Left 4 Dead (they need to release more maps for Vs.) 3) NBA 2k9 (very good game, but terrible online play out of the box drops it on the list)
Well, they were able to take a great game, make a sequel that didn't mess anything up, but give you new levels to play. Perfect!
Man, I dunno. I got tired of killing locust after locust just to get to the easy arse end boss. Same with GOW2. The end boss is a joke.
I heard it's a great game. Too bad the sales were horrendous. Sad to see the ps3 dying. Hopefully FF13/versus comes quicker then expected
I haven't played many new games this year, but here's my list: 1. Rock Band 2, I am addicted to this game! 4. Gears of War 2 5. NBA 2K9 I want to play Left 4 Dead. It looks real good.
I'm having a really hard time getting into NBA 2k9. I don't have the patience to fiddle with sliders and whatnot and there are so many things that irritate me about the game. For me, game of the year is Metal Gear Solid.
I think GTAIV won GotY 08. It would be my vote. Seeing a GTA game on the x360 was a great move by Rockstar Games.
You know, there were video game systems before the original playstation I think we are on the 7th gen.
