If clippers weren't the clippers I'd favor them to make it to the NBA finals. Talent wise they aren't behind any team except the nets.
Lucky for them they are playing fools gold Jazz next series. They have enough defenders to contain Mitchell. Round after that they have to deal with either Denver or Suns which would be a tough series with either team. I think they will make it all the way to the WCF and then Clipper their way out of the playoffs.
Clippers gave science lessons to Luka magic. Class over. Time to go home. Mavs fought hard, but still a 1st round exit.
You have to give it to Clippers for fighting back. A loss in the first round would have been a disaster for their franchise. Glad Mavs lost.
Agreed... I know the Jazz had awesome regular season stats etc... but I'm not a believer. It'll be the series I'm least interested in.
Historically the Mavs have not been able to attract top talent, but I think star players can recruit a player more than an owner, and Luka seems like a guy the rest of the league really respects. I don't think the Rockets will need to worry about much given their own timeline to being competitive.
If only Playoff P was actually Playoff P, I would feel the Clippers can sweep the Jazz. Instead I am sure his shittiness will cost them a couple of games.
Kudos to the Mavs, they had no business even getting this far. Way too reliant on threes and Doncic, it was really like watching Harden’s Rockets in terms of style and reliance.
Suns - Clippers WCF would be nice with CP3 and the young peeps beating the Clippers ass. Suns - Nets finals would be sick. Harden vs. CP3.
The problem is that they are too good to draft a star right now. They also don't have their 21 or 23 FRPs. As much as they want to "get rid of" Porzingis, I don't see how you do that without giving something up. No GM should be giving up assets for him. Luka basically should spend the off season getting in better shape to gun for the MVP next year, and try to work to befriend other stars around the NBA. All that to try to convince someone to come in the off season in the next few years.
Luka has been the story and deservedly so, but Kawhi has been insane this series. 10-15 fg today for 28 points and great defense. Dude is shooting like 70%+ or something the last 4-5 games. I think he will finish the series with a 72% TS or higher. And this is in highly competitive, intense, stressful and pressure filled games too.
Don't really care who won this series, and the next. Hate all those teams. I hope either Denver or Phoenix come out of the West.
