I'm in favor of Bev off the bench, tho. He isn't the answer, and neither is Lin. I'm going to be ridiculous and hold out hope for the Return of Lowry.
Harden ability to score above average to great except the playoff run (bad) his defends bad LIN ability to score above average but not that great compare to Harden ability to shot and 1 Lin ability to defends , absolutely better then harden, Lins def is so so Harden atk B+ to A harden Def F to C- Hustle = C to C+ Lin atk = B Lin Def = C+ to B Hustle = B to B+ Bev atk = C to C+ sometimes B Bev Def = B to B+ Hustle = A Howard atk = B+ to A Howard Def = B+ to A Hustle = B+ Parsons Atk = B Parson Def = C+ to B Hustle = C to C+
Nobody does. Playing Lin off bench as Shooting guard just doesn't make much sense for the 25mil/3y investment, not to mention his trade value.
Beverley had a defensive rating of 108 coming into game 6. That's rather poor. Also he was -2.6. With Harden being Harden Bev in the starting lineup is okay; with Harden struggling Bev is probably the last point guard you would want out there because he adds little value offensively, and is no playmaker.
I don't think any serious Rockets fan would want Lin gone. He's without dispute one of the best backup point guards in the league: he is the only real scoring and playmaking option we have in our second unit; also he's young and continuing to develop. Also...very few teams this summer would think highly enough of Lin to trade $15 million worth of personnel for him. We'll see what happens two years from now though. One thing about Jeremy, however, is that he probably wouldn't be too offended if the Rox offered him like a $4 million contract for him to continue to be their backup pg. So...he might be with us longer. Let's face it...as backup PG, he's perfect for this team. Also he's great for the clubhouse, and is buddy-buddies with Chandler and Dwight. And no--it was not a mistake to start Bev at point guard.
I think that's a rather good question. When Lin plays out his contract do the Rockets try to re-sign him for less money because as hard as he is to watch sometimes, he is currently like 70% of the bench scoring. Also, does a team willing to take his inflated contract via trade do it with the hope they can retain him for a much more modest amount the year after.
Why don't you get too the real reason you keep asking this question... You want to start an argument that Lin should have started... Man you guys keep coming up with the same crap in a different format... Just let it go... and by the way... NO.. Bev was the correct choice. T_Man
Harden's defense was great when the team share the ball. Howard is one of factors. Remember the Rockets winning streak in Dec 2012-13, Harden did play good D in that period.
100% a mistake and it concluded our disappointed season. Lin also shutdowned Lilliard all the 4th quarter. (Lin wasn't there for the last shot) Calvin Murphy and many other celebrities also said so. > Calvin Murphy: Jeremy Lin Needs to Start
You have to believe in Morey. He will make things happen if he wants it to. I get the impression Lin and Asik wasnt moved this season cos his valuation of them was too much for the other party. Am sure if he lowered his price, things will happen.
Starting Beverley was absolutely a mistake for the Rockets. It's not that Beverley played badly, but the Rockets missed out on a golden opportunity to cultivate and develop the Lin-Harden backcourt. When all was said and done, no matter how many times McHale was content to limit Lin to garbage time minutes during the regular season, it was Lin who stepped up to win big games during the regular season to secure the #4 seed, and it was Lin who figured prominently in their 2 playoff wins, plus Games 1 and 6.
Short-sighted Rockets! Your best player can't be such a big liability on defence. Then the coaches decided to bring in PB to cover Harden's weaknesses. In playoff time, you can't cover it anymore. Ask Harden to improve and put more effort on defence, share the ball and allows teammates to playmake more.
hatred always win, hate LOFs so much no way would admit Lin should start, it is like surrender to your worst foe.
