Damn, don't screw over a Clutchfan to save 20 bucks. Not cool. I've sold tickets and a laptop on here, and I've always considered it safer than other places because nobody would want to risk their screen name like this.

King of 40 Acres, make this right. You owe this dude 60 bucks, the money he lost because you backed out. Pay up and apologize.

Legal contract or not, it was still a s***ty thing to do. Yes, he got the tix cheaper. But he left airbullard high and dry, forced to sell the tickets at a big loss when he could have sold them on craigslist. He knew the meeting time and the price well in advance. Just a crappy thing to do to a fellow clutchfan.

On another note, how the hell are there still tickets available for walk up traffic? Come on Houston! These games should be sold out in advance.

Actually, it's a contract under estoppel theory. airbullard reasonably relied on Ko40A's promise to purchase the tickets to his detriment. He passed up other buyers, and he lost 60 bucks when he tried to cover and sell the tickets on the street. Not worth taking the court, but definitely a contract.

if he can provide hard evidence of the email correspondence then yes, it is a contract and Ko40A owes him...

No idea... Besides, none of the above constitutes actual legal advice. I am not a licensed attorney, nor do I hold myself out to be one. Just covering my butt here.

Who's taking the over/under that King of 40 Acres will run far away from this thread and even won't post awhile.

Advice to KO40A: change your handle.

That's a really crappy thing for him to do to dude! Even if it's a verbal agreement, you should follow through, if you don't want to at least give the guy with the tickets enough time to sell them else where, no need to screw him over for no reason, just be up front and timely

No, it is the Rockets holding back tickets trying to sell season tickets for next year, so they end up releasing tickets a day or 2 before the game after telling everyone the game was sold out for over a week. The news there are more tickets doesn't get out as widespread as the sold out notice.

it doesn't take much to form a contract, it's just that tiny infractions like these are never worth taking to court unless you've gout spare change and just want to vindicate yourself. that said, this 40 Acres guy busted a major douche move and deserves some major shunnage.

too bad your opinion is not the law. The point he was making is that verbal contracts are legal. And offer was made and both sides agreed. Its binding.

Nobody is getting sued so it doesnt matter.

What bothers me the most about this is that there were other potential buyers who were turned away. This sucks for them.
