Did you even watch the Rockets back in the 2000s? T-Mac put up ridiculous numbers in the playoffs. His teams where just flat out horrible. We had Ryan Bowen starting at PF for us. So many people over look how terrible his supporting casts were in his days for the Rockets and we were still a 50 win team.
You are comparing Shane Battier the bench player vs. Shane Battier the starter who played 40 min a game...good try though.
Never missed a game. He was playing alongside the best center in the game, a man who could single handedly anchor an elite defense in the league. Not buying that supporting cast argument at all. Basketball is a game where one player can take you to the next level and that was something which he was not capable of doing.
Look at what LeBron did for the Heat/Cavs, Durant does for the Thunder, Melo does for the Knicks, CP3 for the Clippers. Those teams without those players probably would not even be in the postseason let alone conference contenders. It is quite clear that TMac is jut not on that level. Does not have that type of an impact on his team.

ugh, that was cold-blooded silent kill I can't believe the interview. His interviews always got me cringing. Always waited for the moment he blows it completely or his me, me, me's. That were some solid statements he pulled together.
you know what they call a 50 win team that can't win a playoff series? -pretenders you know what they call a coach on a 50 win team that can't win a playoff series again after another 50 wins? -gone you know what you call a superstar who led his team to multiple 50 win seasons and no playoff series victories? -mcgrady

I don't question his desire to win. He is not a killer like Mike or Jellybean. He is more a lighter Lebron with flashes of brillance and a lot of volume scoring. Iceman/a little Magic/Monta Ellis or Brandon Jennings in one body
LeBron with the Cavs was in a weak weak Eastern conference and he still had more support than McGrady did with the Magic when he was in the east. LeBron with the Heat, Bosh and Wade... McGrady never had anyone at that level, you could make the argument for Yao but he was injured too much and was screwed by the refs in the 04-05 playoffs. Durant had a top 5 player in the league next to him and the best playmaker off the bench in the league. Not to mention an almost perfect supporting cast. Melo and CP3 have done really nothing for their teams despite having better supporting casts. Luther Head as your 6th man, Ryan Bowen as your starting PF, and David Wesley as your 3rd option simply won't cut it.
