strangely enough Mike James is gone primarily becuase he took shots from T-mac
and had the audacity to 'wave' T-mac off

McGrady still averaged twenty five points a game and that was up from around twenty the first couple of months so I don't see how you could make that comparison.

edit: mcgrady asked to be here, he was made the focal point of the offense, wtf would have to complain about?

    its a totally different dynamic.

He is a good ballplayer. I also suspect he was believed to be a keg of TNT for the boys of TNT to use as a kegler.

So WTF does Francis have to complain about? JVG gave him his first and ONLY playoff appearance thus far.

I'm not saying what T-Mac did or did not do was anything special. It's more that Francis handled things like a loser.

T-Mac also never claimed that fans came to see him only, like Francis has done. Francis said that crap when we had like 12k fans when he was our main man.

He wouldn't have anything to complain about.

He's a better player, better talent, intangibles, head on his shoulders. He earned the benefit of the doubt to be the focal point. While Francis, simply didn't and doesn't, shouldn't complain.

    It's a totally different player.

he didn't complain about anything. he just said it was his worst season which is understandable.

I didn't watch the last ten minutes last week so I was just relying on what people wrote. Correct me if I'm wrong but he never said it was his worst season, the year with Van Gundy. As a matter of fact, they showed a clip after one of the Laker Playoff games, a press conference, in which he said, something about he and Jeff not getting along but they took a few steps forward.

Does anyone here have ESPN insider account? They have a new article on Steve and Cuttino's relationship, something to the effect of "they are closer than close" (I am intrigued as to what they are refering to).

Thanks in advance if you can post it here...

Saw it yesterday. Surprisingly it was pretty good. Steve is a good person but I'm glad he's not on our team anymore.

At one point, JVG said "I think they (Steve and Cat) would have benefited if they would have had a more serious coach early in their careers" or something to that effect. Was that a jab at Rudy?

Moochie was on there saying that sometimes they couldn't get much done during practice because Steve and Cat were laughing too much. Sheesh, no wonder they're both gone now! I'm glad we have JVG. I love Rudy, but it was time for a change.

I don't think it was a jab at Rudy. Rudy was used to coaching veterans. that was just his niche. I actually agree with Van Gundy that Rudy should have been stricter.

I really enjoyed watching the old Francis footage. And the show really gave insight as to why he is so stuck in his ways. No organized bball til late, and when he finally did break into it, he was extremely successful by just doing the same stuff that helped him win in pick-up games. They didn't go into too much detail, but it seems like every coach he ever had up until JVG just gave him the ball and told him to run with it. I really hope he does mature as a bball player one day, that would be fun to watch. I'm glad the future of the rockets doesn't depend upon it though.
