Steve Francis already gets a Beyond the Glory segment? Damn, all he did was go to the Superbowl one year and miss a team flight... Maybe that's why Hakeem never got one on him. The most controversial thing he ever did was fake a leg injury...
doesn't BEYOND THE GLORY imply that you've had some glory in your career? i don't see the connection with Francis.
Hmmm..if anybody has a copy of that Beyond the Glory segment for Hakeem available for download, I'd really appreciate it.
I've been waiting for a Francis BTG. I'm sure it will concentrate a lot on while Francis was growing up in D.C., his mother dieing, being raised by his grandmother, brother looking out for him, being too small to make the h.s. team...etc...
despite all the francis hating on here. he has one of the greatest stories i've ever seen. the fact that this kid made it to the nba and has had the success (although not a lot) that he has had, his story needs to be told. when i heard about steve's childhood and life growing up it made me a fan of his, he is the portrait of human perseverance.
Yea, Hakeem's BTG was great. They showed it I believe last year. They still play it during replys once in awhile. Another good BTG was Dennis Rodman's. He really is dedicated trying to get a contract in the NBA. Francis' will be interesting. Surely they are going to mention the trade to the Rockets, drafting Yao, and being traded for Tmac.
Francis is Way beyond the glory! The turningpoint in his career has come and gone. He is going nowhere in Orlando, and his main asset, his athleticism, is on the wane. I believe his career will end as one of those players who had loads of potential, but for one reason or another, never fully realized it. The NBA made him rich and famous and that is going to be about it. Unfortunately, the same thing can be said about Moochie Norris.
Francis once actually broke a guy's ankles playing streetball. He faked him out, and the guy literally broke his ankles.
Steve's far from done. He just needs to get his head straight and truly give in to the team concept which will be hard to do in Orlando b/c aside from him, Dwight Howard (who is still developing) and Hill (who is an injury away from retirement), they have nothing. If this team makes the playoffs, it will suprise me.
