    Not it didn't. Moochie is not a NBA caliber player and the Rockets could easily find a better guard to sign at the minimum. Wilks will be an improvement over Moochie trust me.

    wow for me, this was totally unexpected. although mooch has many flaws and we all wanted to see him gone.. i am kinda sad that he is :(

    NY acquires Norris, Amaechi from Houston for Weatherspoon
    --------------------------------------------------------------------

    (New York-AP) -- Reserve forward Clarence Weatherspoon was
    traded today from the New York Knicks to the Houston Rockets for
    point guard Moochie Norris and center John Amaechi.
    It's the first trade engineered by Isiah Thomas, coming just
    eight days after he took over for fired Knicks team president Scott
    Layden.
    The Knicks had been in buyout talks with Weatherspoon, who's
    signed for two more seasons for 12-point-two (M) million dollars.
    Instead, Thomas found a trading partner in the Rockets who have
    been in need of frontcourt depth ever since they suspended and then
    released forward Eddie Griffin.
    Weatherspoon is an eleven-year veteran.
    He averaged at least five rebounds in every season before this
    one and appeared in 15 games for the Knicks before being placed on
    the injured list.
    He averaged three-point-eight points and three-point-three
    rebounds.

    Most of the people down here have never heard of these two, but they are the Knicks with the most "potential," particularly Lampe. Drat. Drat. Drat.

    i like the trade

    it may put Mo back in the starting line up (since he's playing better now) and Cato back as our back up 5.

    Plus it gives Wilkes a chance to play some.

    Second string may look something like this:

    Cato
    Spoon
    Boki
    Pike
    Wilkes

    not bad...........kinda.....:(

    I can see it now. Wilkes will play very well, and Cynthia Cooper will get a big head from saying how she was right-that Wilkes should get some playing time. :D
