i don't really get this from the knicks perspective. they now have 4 point guards, new starter williams, howard eisley, who was starting, for many years the best quarterback in NYC, charlie ward, and now mooch. someone's gotta go. maybe padgett for ward or eisley?

You people are seriously delusional..seriously!! How warped do you have to be to blame MOOCHIE NORRIS for any of the Rocket's shortcomings this year? The dude played MINIMAL minutes and Amaechi had NONE. We are some of the WORST fans in the NBA..period.. we don't represent in the stands and all we do is bytch and moan on the message boards. Reading you people's comments and you'd swear Mooch and Meech was taken up valuable time from the OH SO EFFECTIVE STEVE FRANCIS!!?? You Rocket fans are way more disappointing than anything I've seen in the 30 games we've played so far.

LISTEN UP..this deal happened because unlike ALL of the Rocket players that we currently have on the roster..JVG doesn't want to be a replica of last year and the 3-4 years before that. We have no rebounding..NONE. We got the BEST we could get for a player who barely played 8-10 minutes per game and a player who did not play AT ALL!! JVG is a smart dude..and he is already tired of the "player-friendly" scene that Rudy T has engrained into the lockerroom. This is a BUSINESS..this is not the "Steve Francis Homeboy Club"! If he don't like it--TOUGH. I'm just like VG..play right or get lost!! AND IF SPOON TAKES THIS AS A SECOND CHANCE--I SAY LET'S DO IT!! IF HE UNDERSTANDS HIS ROLE AND WHAT JVG WANTS --I SAY LET'S DO IT! IF ALL HE HAS TO GIVE IS 6 PTS AND 6 REBOUNDS--I SAY LET'S DO IT!!

AND..If anyone has anything constructive to say on this DAYUM BOARD--BY ALL MEANS--DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!

AT LEAST JVG IS TRYING TO BE A WINNER AND A DOER..WHICH IS ALOT MORE THAN WHAT WE'VE SEEN RECENTLY!!

The Knicks have lots of PGs but they have even more PFs.

Thomas, Harrington, Sweetney, McDyess are their PFs.
Van Horn and Spoon are listed as SF but they really are PFs.
For their sake, they don't want Padgett! ;)

Um....have you actually read the posts in here...none blame mooch for the Rockets shortcomings, they just state that he has not done anything for the past 2 seasons and most actually have shown sympathy for him and hope that he can resurect himself there. Chill out man, I swear you only have 11 posts, you have no right to come here and holler. Get a grip

I agree with you completely. Seems like the games lack any kind of energy from the fans. I have been to 4 or 5 games so far and the crowd is completely out of it. Even when the Rockets go on a run and score a bunch of points in a row, the fans hardly keep the energy going throughout. Most times I feel embarassed cause I am one of the few people cheering and everyone just looks at you like you are crazy. Peace

Isiah Thomas thinks that PG's win championships, it looks like he is going to accumulate as many as possible.

Sounds like they're testing the FA pool for a no. 2 at the 1. As a matter of fact I hear they're talking to Hot Sauce from the And One Tour. The rationale is that he can spell SF for 10 - 12 minutes a game without a significant change in the style of play ;) . The advantages the Sauce has in court vision and clutch free throw shooting won't hurt either...you heard it here first.

    Have good and get give

You better be joking. We just got rid of one dribbler. We don't need another one, especially from that overhyped streetball tour.

I think you have to take some solace in the merits of this trade from the Rockets' standpoint based on the fact that Zeek, the bumbling jackass, was on the other end of the deal...we can't possibly be getting screwed.

I was joking...except the part about the Sauce's advantages in court vision and clutch free throw shooting. ;)

By the way, I'm pretty sure Francis would be on board with that signing...I'll bet his Tivo is full of Streetball reruns. I keep waiting for the Franchise to try to off the heezay on some poor unsuspecting NBA point guard.

The Rockets exchanged their trash for NY's trash. Spoon is just as worthless a player as was Moochie. This trade amounts to nothing more than rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

The rockets come out better. What would you rather have?

    Moochie - 3 years
    Amechi - 2 years

    Weatherspoon - 2years

The rockets got the better end of the trade. We rid ourselves of 2 bad contracts while only getting 1 in return.

Additionally, while Spoon is on his last legs, he at least can provide this team with SOMETHING whereas the Mooch/Meech combo was giving us nothing.

I see it as a good move for us. Basically it just puts Spoon in front of Alton Ford in the rotation as the 3rd PF. And addition by subtraction with Moochie not running the offense anymore. That has to count for something!

If there is a tunrover/minute or turnover/sec, Mooch is in the top 3 on that list. You just want to pull your hair out when you watch him play. BTW, did you guys know Mooch played 290 some games consecutively? Man!!!

Signing JJ to the Vet min. and this trade are great moves for us. No doubt about it.

I think the important factor of this trade is being over-looked. We just got rid of two bad contracts in exchange for one bad contract. Only one Rockets player can be drafted in the expansion draft if I remember correctly and of course if we play our cards right that player can be Weatherspoon. I think it's a brilliant move in that respect. If Weatherspoon is incapable of contributing to the Rockets before the expansion draft then so what! Neither Moochie nor Amaechi were capable of contributing either. We lose nothing but an additional bad contract.

If the Rockets aren't finished making moves this could really shape up to be a step in the right direction.
