His voice isn't THAT bad on the albums....live it's another story. Besides the production on both Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie (in all it's pretentious glory) was so crisp, I just have to marvel at the sound.
Replace Sublime in your list with What you said about Matchbox 20 and I'm good. Sublime was a great band, who cares if they were all on dope. Van Gogh was on absinthe when he painted. Every Rock star is on cocaine. You gotta look at the bigger picture here.
DanHiggsBeard - If you don't want people to argue with your choices, you shouldn't write something like "The Eagles - Easily the worst band of all time and this can;t be disputed." What are your qualifications for worst band ever? Do they have to have just enough success to get on the radio or what? There are too many bands out there that suck, so it's easier to talk about your picks for worst bands.
First of all, Eagles are awesome. Second of all, Sublime is utterly amazing. Which of their songs have you heard?
actually, it's usually when the rock star is on drugs is when they make their best music. i can't tell you how many bands have sucked so bad after they've gotten sober. drugs are a great inspiration and motivational tool.
well... you did name your thread "worst bands ever" not "bands I, DanHiggsBear, personally hate." so you yourself is opening it up to argument. just wanted to point that out. i personally don't really care.
Just about all of the hair metal bands pretty much sucked a$$ a few more: Warrent, Whitesnake, white lion, great white, do solo acts count? if so here a some: Kenny G Barry Manilow Yanni Barbara Streisand Chuck Mangione Bette Midler
Quiet Riot was good. Ratt was ok. Bob Seager wasn't too bad either. I used to hate Bob, but now I think he is ok. Old Time Rock & Roll does suck though. I hate all rap music played on the radio right now. I hate that band Jett. I hate that band that sings "Untill the Day I Die", I want to find that guy and kill him.
The two I really dislike, personally: Grateful Dead Phish I'm just not at ALL a fan of the "jam bands." Not "worst" but certainly not at the top of my list. I don't know if "worst" is a really good category for any of these. Maybe "least favorite" would be more appropriate.
Creed is what happens when you take Pearl Jam, Hootie and the Blowfish and a "Spirituality for Dummies" book, stick them in a blender, push the "Puree" button," and when done, drain all the art and talent. Blink 182 is lobotomized punk with bubble gum replacing the brain. Coldplay is Diet Radiohead. Bush was Diet grunge. Foreigner and Journey are Gemini in the universe of crappy 70s stadium rock bands. Damn Yankees - Ted Nugent, Styx and Night Ranger - 3 bad tastes that go worse together. Marilyn Manson - Alice Cooper called and said stop giving him a bad name.
Least favorite would definitely be more appropriate. Whatever band you "hate", someone on this BBS "loves". With that in mind, my least favorite band of all time is Styx, with Rush coming in a not too distant 2nd.
Good Charlotte A Simple Plan et al... Or any of these lame "pop/punk" bands that are so popular right now. They all sound and look the same to me. I hate 'em all.
