Ah ok I got those 2 confused, so this deal pretty much giving us more roster space.

Not a bad idea at all.

I'm not knockin the trade i just don't think the spurs would do it. Plus I really dont think the Rockets should trade with anyone in the division besides the grizzlies. All the players we trade and play against eventually come back and throw it in our faces by tearin us apart. Ei. bonzi wells last year with NO.( I predicted that one.)

Francisco Elson is with the sonics, not the spurs

Lol. Francisco Elson is an unrestricted free agent! Hes not with anyone right now. So chances are we won't be signing him any time soon, if we ever decide to sign another player after the Landry issue is sorted.

Can someone clarify something to me? If, for example, a team like the Grizzlies offer Landry 6 mil per year...does that mean we are unable to retain him in any way?

I'm not sure if the Knicks are getting enough value here, but I think Webster's potential, Head's 3 point shooting in D'Antoni's system, and '09-'10 the cap relief may balance it out.

As for whether he's willing to take less shots, I don't know. Then again, I'm not sure he'd have to take that many less. The problem on this team isn't that there aren't enough shots to go around, but that there aren't enough players to step up and take the shots that they're given, or to create shots out of nothing.

We need insurance at he center position, especially if we do no sign deke.

We are also overcrowded on the roster.

    How about this trade?

    Novak and Head

    to Lakers for

    Mihm.

This would free up a roster spot and free up a little money, and Mihm is off the books after this year, if he does not work out.

    Any thoughts?

Honestly, people, we need to get Javaris Crittenton!
Aaron Brooks is not as ready as Crittenton is for the NBA. Not to mention the size, strength, defense, and all those other qualities Crittenton has over Brooks. Now with their glut of guards, we need to take advantage of this to trade for him!

    Houston recieves: Jason Smith, Minnesota's '10 2nd

Well - yes, if they were able to offer him 6 mil per year we would be unable to retain him in any way.

    BUT

there are rules in place that prevent an offer being made to a RFA above what the team holding their rights could match (at the start of the FA period).

Which basically means that Landry's maximum possible contract is full MLE this season. Should we spend $1 of the MLE, another team could offer the whole thing, we would be unable to match, and bye bye Landry (hence the non-usage).

On the flipside, if you have a players bird rights, the whole thing is a non-issue anyway. Eg, the Warriors, hold Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins bird rights, so they can match up to whatever they'd like to pay. So those 2 guys can't be pried away at all unless the Warriors let them walk.

This has been done a dozen times - but hope it helps!

oh sweet. that sums it up pretty nicely.

Don't really care when or how Landry is signed this summer as long as HE IS SIGNED for the Rockets. But the annoying thing coming out of this saga is the Dorsey no-show at the Summer League resulting from this...Cant believe how ridiculous his agent is...

To deter other teams from offering Landry the full MLE.

Denver went under the luxury tax by letting LA take all of Camby's contract, Rockets couldn't do that, end.

I know this is a " summertime random trade thread" but I just think we need to calm TF down. There is no problem with the trade scenarios and suggestions I just think the people that are in a rush to have somethin happen now need to simmer down.

Look, Morey already stated that there will be a minor trade in the near future, so obviously he has a big picture in mind.

He really knows what hes doing here. And look at it this way all that talent that he gathered up in Boston is a lot of the reason that they won a championship. If they did not have all those prospects there is no way they would have pulled off the deals for RAY RAY and KG.

SO EVERYONE THAT IS SO FRANTIC FOR A MOVE. TAKE A MAJOR CP PLEASE!!!!! :D

That was Danny Ainge drafting those players, not Morey. Morey probably wouldn't have made that trade either until the trade deadline.
