We can defiantly get more with the Battier/Jackson package.

bjax,Landry (signed with MLE ) ,Hayes ,Luther,Woods, brooks, as a package for Stephen Jackson and Al Harrinton. These six guys are not necessary for rockets so thay are tradable. As we have too many rosters on our team roster list,we must wipe out some or will have to release some before the season's starting .I have a rule in mind that it's better to trade than release.

just looked on trade machine and this worked

Bjax + francis + battier and 1st rounder for marion

we get a 3rd scorer and star who can play SF and replace Battier and they get 2 vet point guards and a defensive wing works both ways

...and they get 2 washed up crappy point guards and a defensive wing works both ways...?

In bothways do you mean they get screwed both ways?

IF I'm going to trade Battier, I'd rather it be in a package that brings in a star player ie..Artest, Redd, VC maybe Marion.

Dude, haven't you read the previous posts? You can't do a SnT with Landry using the MLE. Besides, it doesn't match salary-wise.

First of all the contracts don't match up, and I won't even bother going into the snt part. Most importantly why in the world would GS do this?

Why would you think GS would trade 2 of their starters for this kind of deal?

cuttino mobley for bobby jackson and a 2nd rounder.

mobley came in as a 6th man in the late 90s and scored 18 points a game before being moved into the starting lineup. i think he could start at sg for the rockets and give us 15 points a game. he has gotten a little older (33 in september) but he can still defend and shoot the 3. he only shot 35% from beyond the arc last year but i think he can flourish in houston being alongside francis and yao again.

    rafer
    mobley
    tracy
    scola
    yao

i think thats a pretty good starting 5

actually either mobley or shane could start with either coming in as the 6th man

I really like this idea, Mobley is a pretty good defender as well as a reliable scorer.

And who knows if we get Mobley maybe it will even inspire Francis to play better.

As a Rockets fan, I would love to get Cuttino. It would be a nostalgic signing. But at his age and at the huge amount of money he's making, a realist shouldn't pursue this guy. I would think keeping Bobby's expiring contract would be much more valuable in this case.

Portland wouldn't even trade Outlaw & Rush for Battier...

But you need to know if Pritchard had the idea of the Rush for Bayless deal in his mind already, while Morey and KP were talking.

Oh and, Luther Head, Memphis' 2nd/Future 2nd to Philadelphia for their TE, and their own lottery protected 1st rounder/Utah's first, whichever they didn't trade to Minnesota.

That in itself shows Battier's real value. Battier for Rush(i.e a low lottery pick) would have happened if Portland really valued him more than Bayless.

I think Rush will be a solid NBA player but he doesn't have star value.
Battier can get a good role player back in return, but not more than that.

I actually think chicago would be a very logical trade partner. They have 3 guys they are shopping that the rockets could easily use.

    Idea 1)

Jackson, luther head, 2009 first for S/T Ben Gordon. (if necessary you can add brooks) With the 125% rule and the fact jackson/head make 8 mil combined, you could pay gordon up to 10 mil. The bulls get a valuable expiring contract and a 1st for a player they don't really want back.

    Idea 2)

Jackson, brooks, head, 2009 first for Hinrich. See logic above, except this time they don't want hinrich because of the addition of rose.

    Idea 3)

Jackson, head(you can add a pick if necessary) for Nocioni

Another guy chicago doesn't want, and the rockets get a very versatile backup SF/PF combo who can hit the 3's he would be provided on this team.

The Gordon deal might be a bit stickier with him being BYC.

My calculations were wrong as pbthunder showed, but it would depend if gordon was BYC for the purpose of the S&T.

you do know you could replace battier with jackson and salaries still work for hinrich? I don't think you have to involve shane to get hinrich.
