I think Rafer can be an effective starting PG for this team if we had a legitimate third scorer.

Iverson makes more sense than Marbury....does Marbury have a nickname? I don't even recognize the guys initials. I digress.

We could trade Landry (SnT), Rafer, Jackson/Francis to Denver if we rented AI for one year.. AI is a $20 million expiring contract this year.

    Yao
    Scola
    Battier
    T-Mac
    Iverson

    It would be interesting.

Again, I posted this less than 1 page back in this thread...

    See Article #76

A sign-and-trade deal can be made even with players who have been renounced, but cannot be made when the player is signed using the Mid-Level, Bi-Annual or Disabled Player exceptions.

Sorry - didn't mean to be a jerk (no really!)

Probably could've made the post a little nicer - but I think we (Rockets fans) undervalue our PGs and overvalue everyone elses backup junk!

I'm ALL for upgrading the PG spot (cannot handle Rafer!) - but I'd want to do it in a way that upgrades the spot in the way it needs upgrade (ie - to fit around Ming/ McGrady). And also not to ruin the team chemistry that we have.

I just don't think there are that many CLEAR upgrades to Alston that are easily available (at this stage) and I fear we'll be waiting until the trade deadline to get one.

As far as Brooks goes - I was very impressed with his offensive abilities - scoring etc - and his post all-star numbers are great.

I'd rather keep grooming him for the position than throw him away for a backup who can't shoot ;)

I think the idea may be to wait until the Feb 09 All-Star break to trade Brooks where his value will be much higher than it is high if he improves from now til then.

But then again we might want to keep him if he improves... :p

Any PG is better than Rafer...ruining chemistry? Well yeah Kupchak must have been like: lets not ruin chemistry lets keep Kwame...

chemistry issues will be well solved if we can get that player during this North American summer.

I think the good PGs that are on the market are:

Mo Williams - Seems Mil is trying to move him
Raymond Felton -- ranks 7th in the league on assists in a crap Charlotte team--imagine him on the Rockets with T-Mac and Yao--I reckon he should definitely be our target. There were rumours of him being traded for David Lee, lol we should be able to offer much more Charlotte wants.

How did Kwame contribute meaningfully to that Lakers squad again?

Like I say, I'm ALL for upgrading Rafer - but not just ditching him for a backup PG simply because 'he suxXorZ'.

I don't get why you would say this, considering how he ran the team this season. I really think he has flourished this season under Adleman.

Who is actually better? That we actually have a realistic chance of getting?

Hinrich? Felton? Their shooting last season was worse then how their teams played.

I want MO williams, but i know most of rockets fans are not fond of him,so i offer another suggestion ,hou about vince Carter, who is T-mac's brother.
T-mac will try his best to win the games ,he will have to be devoted to the match or his no,1position would be taken by his brother,i know he would be gonna feel frustrated if he became his brother's attendant again. :(

They're cousins. I don't even know if they're first cousins, but "cousin" is the connection. Unless we use the word "brothers" in a "Band of Brothers" sense, closer than close, bound by a common cause, always there for the other.....
