I don't know if this is possible but I would like to sign James Jones for part of the MLE after resigning Landry and then trade BJax, Head, and future 1st and mem's 2nd to the Bucks for Mo Williams. There you have a championship caliber team...Williams, T-Mac, Battier, Scola, Yao; Bench: Alston, Jones, Landry, Greene, Brooks, Hayes, etc. I doubt it would happen but seems fair to me on paper since the wanna move Mo anyways.

What about JR SMith? I think that he is the perfect fit for our team. He can shoot 3s and he is atheletic.

You have to understand he's a bonehead. A talented bonehead, for sure, but he's too young and his price tag is too high. Couple that with the fact that he's restricted and the Nuggets will almost certainly match any offer he receives, you look elsewhere.

We need to trade Battier. We need a player like Artest in order to be contenders. If we keep Battier, we won't pass the first round again. We really need a third player that can provide help offensively to Yao and TMac.

Mo Williams can definitely help. He scores 15-20 pts a game on 48.5% and 38.5%

Here is a interview of Yao Ming by SINA right before the draft, I'll do the best I can to translate this so bare with me.
    http://sports.sina.com.cn/cba/2008-06-27/11153750620.shtml

Reporter: Will you be participating in next month's Stanvoic(sp?) cup?

Yao: Right now I am not sure I will participate, obviously the Olympics are much more important. Obviously I would not want to risk injuries on something that is less important. But from my perspective I need some warm up matches to help me get back to 100%. This is a dilemma, so I have to wait for (the Cup) to decide whether or not I will play.

Reporter:This will be your 3rd Olympics, are you hoping that you may help advance chinese basketball on home soil?

Yao: Its been my biggest honor to have participated in 3 Olympic games. In 2000 at Sydney, I was very young and inexperienced. 2004 at Athens, home of the Olympics, it was a very good opportunity. In 2008, to play in my home country, everyone including me have waited so long for. I can feel everyone's support for me.

Reporter: This summer there has been a lot of trade rumors regarding TMAC. Have you heard of such rumors.

Yao:eek:f course every summer there is a lot of false rumors and trade talks and stuff like that. There is no need to pay attention to such talks. TMAC is apart of the team, like all my teammates, hoping to help bring new advances in our team. There is no doubt about this.

Reporter: The draft will soon be over and the results posted. Have you talked to the rockets regarding the draft?

Yao: Before I left I had a conversation with Morey. But since the draft hasn't started yet, I can't say who we have in mind of selecting. I too only have a generalized I idea of what we are looking for, and obviously things can change very quickly. As you know the 25th pick is a relatively low pick, there could be a lot of big changes before the pick is made. Morey told me, it is going to be rather difficult to find a perfect fit for the club with this pick.

Reporter: in the Sydney 2000 Olympics, when USA played China, the refs called a lot of fouls on you. Have you done anything to prevent that from happening again?

Yao: I can't really remember clearly what happened 8 years ago, but I do remember it was my first Olympics, and about that game all I can remember is that I fouled out in 16 mins, that had to do with my lack of experience. Against team USA, although it is rather difficult, we should not back down. So about this game, like I said earlier, its not important to think about everything, just how to play with confidence, play to our ideal performance.

Reporter: The national team can't get past the elite 8, Rockets can't getting past the first round, what do you think is lacking.

Yao: Right now I don't have much information about the teams in our group, since I haven't joined the team yet I dont have any information about our opponents so I can't comment on it.
About the rockets (sigh) if it was because of tactics, if I know what we are lacking then we would have gotten to the 2nd round already. Some people say that we are in need of a 3rd scorer, personally I don't think thats the problem. A lot of teams only have 1 superstar, and they can get past the 2nd round and beyond. Look at the Lakers, personally I think Kobe is their only superstar, and they advanced to the finals.

-Then its more questions about what he will do after the Olympics. And how he will build schools for the earthquake region.

Reporter:尤纳斯(I think its the Chinese national team coach)said that he will increase the speed of the way you guys play. How will this affect you.

Yao: Currently is about how fast your team can play, unlike the past where everyone's thinking is, we have a tall guy on the team, we have to slow the down. But the current NBA require you to be able to keep up with the speed of the team, then you can talk about playing good ball.

Don't want to make it seem like Yao think that he's the only superstar on the team.

    1. He's been mentioned to be on the trading BLOCK since the pistons lost in the playoffs.

    2. Just because someone's out there doesn't mean we can/should make a move for him. The players the pistons would probably be willing to take him for on the rockets is TMAC/Yao, and I really don't see why we should trade for a aging point guard who was only successful after they got 4 other all stars to play with him.

    3. I didn't know we still lived pre civil war era, its trading BLOCK, not trading black....... hell A and O are not even close to each other on the keyboard.

Hey guys do you reckon we get get Miller from Minnesota???

I reckon its pretty realistic given the youth-movement they are having and Miller will only prevent them from developing young players more...

by the time they finish rebuilding Miller would be in his early 30's at least, so can we make a realistic run at him? I'm sure Miller would be really annoyed that he's been playing with the worst teams in the league for the better part of his career...

    maybe something like:

    Bobby Jackson
    Aaron Brooks
    Chuck Hayes
    09' 1st rounder

    for

    mike miller
    (fillers)

    Houston gets: Mike Miller
Minnesoa gets: Luther Head, Bobby Jackson, Steve Francis

Why Houston does it: Gets a legit 3rd option/shooter for very, very little.

Why Minnesota does it: 3 expiring contracts for a team that is rebuilding. They have NO use for Miller, so he is very likely to be had for a package very similar to the one proposed. And Head is a good shooter that is still young and developing, so they might like keeping him for the future.

I'd also happily send them a draft pick.

    Mike Miller?

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...=255~2763~376~558&teams=16~16~16~10&te=&cash=

    Houston gets: Mike Miller
Minnesoa gets: Luther Head, Bobby Jackson, Steve Francis

Why Houston does it: Gets a legit 3rd option/shooter for very, very little. Right now the Rockets are about one player away from seriously contending, and the most sorely needed asset the Rockets need is a 3rd scorer that can create his own shot. Instead of risking trading a Battier or Scola for a guy like Artest, they make a very safe deal for a proven player.

Why Minnesota does it: 3 expiring contracts worth an upwards of $9 million for a team that is rebuilding. They have NO use for Miller, so he is very likely to be had for a package very similar to the one proposed. And Head is a good shooter that is still young and developing, so they might like keeping him for the future.

I'd also happily send them a draft pick.

is Minn. looking for expirings? It seems to me like they're kind of trying to compete.

Miller has more value than that. If they did deal him it'd have to be for another expiring name player (e.g Ron Artest if doesn't opt out) or a trade package involving Brian Cardinal.

Anyway Miller makes sense for them, he fills a need:

    Foye
    Miller, McCants
    Gomes, Brewer
    Love, Smith
    Jefferson, Collins, Madsen

I don't think they will trade Mo just for these...At least Landry should be included if you want to make the offer attractive :)

I think Chuck should/will probably be moved. I really like the idea of trading him to get one of Memphis guards now that they've traded and drafted what...200 guards???

    Chuck Hayes
Steve Novak/or Loren Woods + cash

    for

    Javaris Crittendon

sounds good? I'd looove for J-Critt to be on our team. Probably the next Rajon Rondo...in Rockets uniform!
