bobby jackson+ hayes+ 1st rounder and cash for Quentin Richardson + 1st We get a shooting wingman and a good 1st rounder dunno if NY would do it
We all know that Gay was never picked by the Rockets for the purpose of keeping him.Les Alexander said we didn't get enough for the 8th pick and he isn't a basketball man.
Im pretty sure everyone knows this by now already, but in case some people dont, the reason we traded away gay, is we put so much stock in brandon roy and pretty much had it in writing that he was a future rocket, and then we got screwed because he went one pick before us.
having some fun. Tmac + landry for deng, hughes and #1 pick. Chicago get a legitimate star player and a post player which is what they been looking for for a long time. And they get to offload that contract. Houston get deng who is having a poor and injury fill season, and rose. bjax+ head + #25 for Przybilla + #13 pick Portland wants to lower the salary for the expected salary increase for Aldrige, roy and oden, and getting a above average 3p shooter and a veteran. Houston did the trade for that #13 pick. battier + alston + #13 for redd. Bucks gets defensive upgrade big time, and upgrade on the 3 spot while having a PG that distributes the ball and defend, while Mo can keep on doing his shooting. And another 1st round pick. Houston gets redd. With hughes and Przybilla's contract, anyone is possible. Keeping this 2 is not that bad of an option either. Hughes + przybilla for tinsley + dunleavy Indiana get to offload tinsley, gets a solid center and a 12m contract that expire during the 2010 sweepstake. Houston gets dunleavy for his all round game. PG Rose/Brooks/Tinsley SG Redd/Francis/Harris SF Deng/Dunleavy/Novak PF Scola/Hayes C Yao/mutombo/woods Great starting 5, but weak on the bench. But with Rose/Redd/Deng, the core is set for many years to come. part of the MLE will be use to resign landry, which will be traded along, but the rest of the MLE or the LLE can be use to sign another wing, like barnes or green or whoever. Or a backup center.
Fun it was. Impossible to pull off but I would do it in a second. Look at it this way: Rose, Tinsley huge upgrade over Alston, Brooks Redd, Harris (Francis will never play again) medium downgrade for T-Mac/Head Deng, Dunleavy, Novak large upgrade over Battier, Novak Scola, Hayes small downgrade Scola Landry Yao same. I like it.
We understand what W22 is saying is that we got so little for Rudy. I was thinking the same thing I mean the Rox could have at least asked for the next years #1 pick from the Grizzlies maybe we could have gotten a better player like Mike Conley, Jeff Green or even maybe moved up for an Al Horford. i dont mind that they traded Gay, what a name, I just would have liked a little equal value in return.
I agree we will have gotten more athletic at 3, an upgrade at PG, and probably closer to under Les' dreaded luxury tax for the next years. Also I dont know if people know but Redd was a defensive stopper before he became a prolific scorer. Not saying that he will be again Im just saying he know how to play some D if he is willing. I Like It A Lot.
I saw lamarcus aldridge at which which a couple days ago... any chance we could pick him up?? Like maybe Tmac for Aldridge + Lafrentz?
cause we would have a young twin towers.. then we can package scola/landry/battier for some athletic swingmen domination!
T-Mac for Rose is intriguing. On the one hand, we know what Tracy is, and we'd just be guessing as to what kind of a player Rose will be. On the other hand, McGrady doesn't have as many years left as Rose. Also, hopefully, Rose wouldn't have McGrady's health problem. But, who knows?
I dont post here that much but I do visit this site a lot and here is my trade idea. Rockets get: Mike Miller Kyle Lowry Cash considerations Gizzlies get: Bobby Jackson Chuck Hayes Luther Head 25th overall pick Cash considerations Rockets: The Rockets get a shooter in Mike Miller and get a young point guard to grow with Brooks. Also they get cash which is always nice to have. Grizzlies: They get an expiring contract in Bobby Jackson. Chuck Hayes is a young small power foward but can get tough rebounds. Then Luther Head is a young SG with a lot of potential that can go in the backcourt Conley. Also they get cash and a 2nd 1st round draft pick.
I think this would be a good trade. We would have one of the best point guards in the league for years to come. With Deng on board we could shop Battier or Deng with expirings for an upgrade at SG. Only problem is that Landry is a FA, so we would have to sign him first and the only way to get that done anytime soon is to give him the full MLE.
If getting Redd only cost us Battier(even though I am oppose to trading him), Head, Jackson I would do it. Then use our #25 and cash considerations to move up to get Rush. Hoping Landry only take 1/2 MLE and use the rest to get Pietris or Posey(which he will stay in Boston unless we can offer most or all of the MLE). Resign Green Rafer/Francis/Brooks Redd/Rush/Green TMac/Pietris or Posey/Novak Scola/Landry/Hayes Yao/Deke/Woods Though I love what Battier brings, Redd/Rush/Pietris or Posey is a whole lot better than Battier/Head/Jackson. This team will be more equip for TMac to miss a few games, as we know he will, without a big falloff especially if Francis is atleast 80%. I love to dream, but I am always disappointed when I wake up, lol.
if getting redd meant giving up all that plus landry and the 25th pick i'd do it Redd would be the 3rd scorer we need we'd still have Alston and Scola to round out the roster that is very favorable to bostons big 3 with better role players
I like this because the grizzlies lost juan carlos navarro and maybe head can be a replacement. Lowry can back up the point and Miller will be an excellent 6th man. at the 2-3 spot. Scola and Landry will be the power forwards... Its a balanced roster.
I'm sure it's been posted already, but I wouldn't mind seeing Morey take advantage of Michael Heisley's insane desperation to get rid of Brian Cardinal's (not THAT terrible) 2 years / $13.5M remaining on his contract. Many reports have Memphis offering the #5 pick with Cardinal to the Knicks for David Lee and the expiring contract of Malik Rose. While Lee is definitely a good young player, the Knicks aren't even giving up a future first round pick in that deal. That being said, how about the following deal: Grizzlies trade: Brian Cardinal, #5 overall pick Rockets trade: Bobby Jackson, Luther Head, #25 overall pick and cash The Grizzlies can use the cash to subsidize a buyout of Jackson's final year and end up saving several millions of dollars over the next two years. They also get a young shooter in Head to replace Navarro (as Jacquescas astutely suggested) as a 3-point threat off the bench. They could also use the #25 pick on a decent young big like J.J. Hickson who could develop with the other young Memphis players. The Rockets would be doing this strictly to get an impact young player with the #5 pick. My guess would be that Morey would use that pick to take one of the following players: Jerryd Bayless, Russell Westbrook, Joe Alexander, Eric Gordon, or Danilo Gallinari. Houston would basically pray that Cardinal can show up and do ANYTHING for them the next two years, although a buyout after next year could be a possibility. This would require some serious monetary backing from Les Alexander, but he might be willing to do it if tempted by the allure of a high lottery pick. He probably still gets a rush thinking back to the highway robbery of the Grizzlies in 1999 when he got Steve Francis in exchange for Michael Dickerson, Othella Harrington and a bag of peanuts. Do I think this trade will happen? Likely not. But it would be interesting to know if Memphis would listen.
