Detroit might be able to use another extra defender along with Prince, but they have no use for Bobby Jackson. Stuckey is not ready to be a full time PG,there were times he was running out of gas.Playing 82 games plus the playoffs is tough. Detroit would be better off getting another PG to replace Billups if they want to move him.We don't have a PG who can help them out.
Sheed + Rip + Jarvis Hayes for T-Mac + Head and 2nd round pick after that ; Scola + Bobby + Rafer for Baron Davis Yao/Deke/Woods Sheed/Landry/C.Hayes Shane/Novak/Green Rip/J.Hayes/Francis Baron/Aaron/Francis I'm a genius
Bjax + Shane + Luther Head + 2009 first rounder For Billups + Afflalo + Carlos Delfino's Trade Exception worth about Luther's contract Draft Brandon Rush and sign Micheal Peitrus with MLE C: Yao/Mutumbo/ PF: Scola/Landry/Hayes SF: Peitrus/Rush/Novak SG: Tmac/Afflalo/Francis PG: Billups/Alston/Brooks
Is there still a possibility of us getting mike miller? <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zjKk092NupI&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zjKk092NupI&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Well I don't know....that is a pretty good deal. Pistons are looking to start over and all the teams that have tradable assets all have starting PGs that are better or equally capable like Billups. Chicago, Cleveland, and the Rockets being the only 3 that don't have their prized PG yet. Chicago can draft Derrick Rose and change that...Cleveland doesn't have the assets that the Rockets have. On the plus side think about the trade for Detroit Billups is due 10 million and Afflalo is an ok player. Bjax 6 million come off the books plus a first rounder in next years draft plus Luther Head for a measley 2 million trade exception...Which you can get worse for. If Detroit uses their money wisely...they can be under the salary cap in 2 years...right when Lebron, Kobe, and the other stars are in free agency
I did take the salary relief into consideration. I admit it can help them but I don't think they are wanting to start all over again.I feel they want to get a better or younger player by trading Billups.I think they will look for the best deal possible instead of going for Battier and expiring picks.Of course this is just speculation on my part, only time will tell what's going to happen.
Brooks, Luther Head, B Jackson, and this year's #25 Pick for Billup + Piston's Bad Contract. Piston get a project and backup PG in Brooks; Luther and BJackson are expirings that will come off their book in 2010. PLus, they could resign Luther if he bounce back next year; Last, they get a 1st round pick and get rid of some of their bad contracts. It might not be the best offer they get, but it's a fair deal for both teams.
How would that even work out? Luther makes a bit over 1 million a year and some goes to Brooks. Bobby Jackson is 6 million a year expiring. So that's about 8-9 million right there. Billups is now making about 12 million. Bad contract? The salaries won't even match by just offering for even Billups alone.
I think Billups is a BYC player and his base year salary is about $10 Mil.. However, I just checked with RealGM, the trade doesn't work.
Match this one with the magic rumor and your starting line is: Billups McGrady Turk Scola Yao Sadly however you have no bench lol. Fun to dream.
that looks pretty good on paper offensively. but you know all the defense Van Gundy instilled on the team is gone out the door with all those trades if they happen. Billups is cant play proper d, he is the worst defender by consensus on detroit's lineup... and we give up 3rd best defender in whole league to get someone who has only just had a breakout season...who knows if he will be like that next year...thats why magic would trade him for shane and I dont think the rockets should plus isn't there a consensus that adelman's system takes time to learn execute properly? so all last year's experience of adelmans offense has just gone out the door... I dont think we need to trade any of our starters, EXCEPT Rafer, or Shane is the right deal is there. Scola's salary and performance isn't worth trading away, and obviously Yao and T-Mac is untouchable. Just get a good PG like Andre Miller or Randy Foye(if they draft someone to replace him) this offseason and I'll be pretty happy
I'm not sure what Portland would want from us, but I would love to trade for the rights to Peteri Koponen, especially if they are able to draft or trade for a point guard. Koponen would be an excellent player to develop for Adelman's system.
yao, t mac, scola, landry, brooks, shane, novak, rafer, sf3 , hayes are not goin anywhere. luther, bobby and whoever else will get trade! that is my prediction. we probably will draft a rookie who can play 2&3, and we will get a solid role player role player at either pg or c. i think both the coach and the manager trust young players, so there will be no any players above 30 comin though. overall, there will not be a big change on the roster after this summer since if we are healthy, we can beat any teams on this planet.
Chauncey is old! and can't play defence... No way I want to pick up Detroit's leftovers, especially at such a huge price...
I think Turk was on the old Sac teams, so as far as the system goes Billups would be the only new addition.
Can the salary of Jackie Butler (2.5mil) and Justin Reed (1.5ml) be used in the trade? Their salaries will come off book next year...
