Got my 1st pfizer shot Thursday, made sure they put it in the shoulder that's already bothering me. More sore that night and next mornig, already had a doc appointment the next day to look at it: pinched nerve, cortisone shot, feels like a new shoulder. Now I need to buy a new mattress. Time to search for the bbs thread on those, because I have no ****ing clue about mattress shopping. Actually, have never bought one.
FYI, if you are still in need of a vaccine, you can sign up on the Harris County waitlist. We've burned through almost everyone on our waitlist because everyone has already gotten theirs somewhere else. We are very close to a first come first serve.
Finally vaccinated! The 2nd dose is kicking my ass on day 2. I'm feeling chills, light headed, fatigued and my back kinda sore for some reason. 1st dose was the easiest, didn't feel a damn thing.
This was my experience with Pfizer second dose as well. Felt the light onset of flu light symptoms the day of the shot near the evening, then horrible the day after and then suddenly shortly after evening the symptoms rapidly just disappeared.
Not sure if people are still needing to buy facemasks, but here's a good sale that's only for today: https://www.gamestop.com/toys-colle...llector-movie-electronic-helmet/10172048.html
Received my second Pfizer dose early Saturday morning and thankfully as of now didn’t experience any of the negatives others have experienced. Glad to hear symptoms for others didn’t last too long.
Surprised me too w/ Moderna. Aside from feeling a little funky and a headache, not bad. Does that mean my immune system is no good? Lol.
Affirmative. Can't wait for this pandemic to end and I can take vacation days again. Already lost 2-3 weeks of PTO from this past year.
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/13/us/politics/johnson-johnson-vaccine-blood-clots-fda-cdc.html Today FDA and @CDCgov issued a statement regarding the Johnson & Johnson #COVID19 vaccine. We are recommending a pause in the use of this vaccine out of an abundance of caution. As of 4/12, 6.8m+ doses of the J&J vaccine have been administered in the U.S. CDC & FDA are reviewing data involving 6 reported U.S. cases of a rare & severe type of blood clot in individuals after receiving the vaccine. Right now, these adverse events appear to be extremely rare Treatment of this specific type of blood clot is different from the treatment that might typically be administered. CDC will convene a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) on Wednesday to further review these cases and assess their potential significance. FDA will review that analysis as it also investigates these cases. Until that process is complete, we are recommending this pause. This is important to ensure that the health care provider community is aware of the potential for these adverse events and can plan due to the unique treatment required with this type of blood clot. Please join us via YouTube for an audio press conference at 10 a.m. EDT. We will keep the public updated as we learn more.
Yes all the CDCs and governments keep saying this and it is extremely misleading. If not malicioiusly so. 90%+ of the people who have had that vaccine are over the age of 55 even in the UK. a typical 100.000 population isn't in age over 90% over 55. Dear WHO and EU, take a 100.000 people from all ages and then come back with blanket statistics. Especially I want to see the statistic of 100.000 women under the age of 50. Why they don't say anything about that? Because it doesn't suit their purpose, simple as that. They rather if some thousands of healthy women develop blood clots and some hundreds or thousands die than keep the lockdown. If I die or get paralysed they won't even be reliable. It will be just "too bad, bad luck" now let's move on to the next.
Now that's a proper response. Immediate pause after a single death and extensive research. NOT lying and misleading. Even if it costs billions of dollars.
I don't want to speak for WHO but if 90% of the people who took the vaccine are over 55 can pretty easily calculate the figure for those who got severe blood clots under 55 (not sure if the 5 year age difference is significance.) If we assume that all the cases of severe blood clots are for those under 55 and 10% of those vaccinated with AstraZeneca are under 55: 10% of 100,000 is 10,000 and since that is 1/10 of 100,000 then for 1:100,000 for everyone that would mean that it is 10:100,000. or .01%. If we assume that all of the cases of severe blood clots are for women that would be 10:50,000 (assuming half of any 100,000 is women) that would put the risk at 20:100,000 or .02% Those figures are still less than the risk of dying if infected with COVID-19 Certainly if you have the option of taking another vaccine it makes sense to take the vaccine with less risk but the numbers so far show that the risk of taking even the AstraZeneca vaccine than risk from being infected with COVID-19.
