I really think this speaks a lot of truth. I haven't been around clutchfans since the "good ol' days," but I've been lurking these forums for a number of years before I signed up after the Harden trade, and I think there are a number of factors that have contributed to the "kinds of noise" that clutchfans receives these days: - Obviously there is the Lin fandom - The Harden and Howard Duo and Rockets as contenders buzz - The internet is faster, cheaper and more widely available than it was in the early to late 00's (at least in Aus) - And lastly that this is probably one of more active and lively NBA team forums around the net. I think this forum is only going to get larger and larger and the best way to combat the type of behaviour that is clogging up the GARM is to lead by example and try to embed the sort of forum culture that people will respect and abide by. It's good to reminisce, but we all have to active if we want to change the future of the GARM. Just my 2 cents.
I like the GARM better when people cared about these top 5 things 1. Houston Rockets 2. Houston Rockets 3. Houston Rockets 4. Houston Rockets 5. Houston Rockets
I think the reason is for this is that people are forgetting Clutchfans is for Rockets fans What about the children? well, Wutang is for the children <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/BS181X4F3bw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Although I don't like Tinman, I agree with him. For being a Rocket fansite, there sure are alot of anti-Rocket posts.
yeah, we get members who say this to other members "You Houston fans" That's not suppose to happen on a board for HOUSTON ROCKETS FANS.
Thank god I'm not the only one that notices this. Howard sucks, Harden sucks, Parsons is an overrated role player. Don't get me started on what the mere mention of Lin's name does. I feel like I'm posting on an ESPN board. I don't mind calling out players sometimes, but maybe 1 out of 10 posts are actual measured responses to the situation.
I'm changing the title of this thread because I'm tired of seeing it on the front page. I recognize the LOFs are a major problem and we've done a lot (in my opinion) to limit thread-starting in the Rockets forum. I'm all for constructive feedback -- this is a much better thread for ways to improve the forum. But as for the pile-on, I've commented on these types of threads numerous times over a dozen or more years... this one still sums up my feelings on it. If you don't want to do that, then don't post there. I'm happy to turn the forum off for you if it's causing that much grief.
Remember when Michael Jackson made that song they don't care about us? He was talking about clutchfans Don't you black or white me
Meh I think the GARM has always been as bad at any time any year. Sports fans are irrational and knee jerky by nature. I've learnt to avoid the GARM after bad losses every season. Although it has been slightly worse this season because of an influx of new users, and alot of whom have an agenda and likes to plaster their agenda in every thread which is annoying.
I don't think I'd ever root for Houston again knowing McHale isn't on the team anymore. ....... ....... .......
