God help us all. You had a decent thread until uncorking this yet again. The Greek showed us nothing to think he could do anything in this league. Maybe Brooks should get a chance. What we have isn't working at this point, so why not try giving him some serious minutes? But please don't demean yourself by bringing up The Greek yet again. Been there, done that... to death.

    Thanks in advance! ;)

Miller would be decent, though his 10% 3pt shooting is worse than even Rafer, which wouldn't help spacing much. It would all depend on what we would have to give up.

You need to bring along rookies slowly. They can score, they show flashes but only a few can step in in their 1st year and help the team to win games. Brooks maybe the answer after at least 1 and half season.

We need Damon Stoudamire. I think Stoudarmire should be available and the best affordable options for the Rockets. expiry contracts + 2nd round pick should get it done.

I think it's time to give him some minutes. How many times we gotta see Head out there before Adelman figures out he ain't gonna work out? And frankly, I'd rather see Brooks defending than Head. Brooks has the quickness/speed factor to really cause some havoc defensively. To post him up, a point guard is gonna have to bring the ball all the way down on the dribble and back him all the way down, which could be done because he is so small but that is a one time play because the next time, you bring over help and force the point guard to give it up. The only other play you gotta worry about is running him off screens and getting the ball in on him on the block. I personally think Brooks is too quick for that. I think he gets around the screens and picks the ball off, making that a low percentage play.

I'd like to see him out there super aggressive and overplaying defensively. We need an ignition switch that just isn't out there. And offensively, there is no one, including Chris Paul that can contain him.

This is such a damn blind idea. Brooks is a junior Mike James, period.

    DaDakota,

Please, for the love of God, mark your posts with a warning if you're going to post something this funny!!

I almost suffocated from laughing so hard. V-Span, give us a break. It's obvious you either never watched the guy play, or you know nothing about basketball. That includes coaching as well.

    Hahaha Aaron Brooks...

You guys must be smoking crackalack.

That's exactly what we need, a 5'10 160lbs point guard to play D on Deron Williams, Chauncey Billups, Steve Nash, Tony Parker, Jason Kidd, Baron Davis, Allen Iverson, Chris Pauls of the league.

As bad a pansy as vspan, the guy can play and his penetration would have helped a lot

The guy can drive, heart? not so much. Otherwise he wouldn't have been crying for his mama.

    Thought this was interesting.

    http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/5382327.html

Coach Rick Adelman said he would like to give Brooks a look in practice.

"Definitely, because we were down a guard," Adelman said of the decision to bring back Brooks. "But with Rafer being out and the type of injury he has, we need to get him back and get him in practice and see what he can do. He certainly has some skills we need. He can push the ball. He can shoot the ball. And he's got great quickness. You have to be sure when you throw him in the fire, he has a chance to succeed, too.

"Right now, we're trying to find people to be effective. If an opportunity presents itself, I would not hesitate to play him." --Adelman

"Of course, I held the ball a little more than I will in this offense," Brooks said "It is what we want to do in this offense, get up and down and run a little more. We didn't have a 7-6 dude. We had a 6-7, 6-6 guy playing center. But what they want me to do, I was doing down there." --Brooks

I was thinking the same thing but is Aaron our key to good games?
It will cause serious chemistry problems with Francis,James and Alston and harldly motivate them.
McGrady and even Yao would have been sceptic about it.
I love Aaron but he lacks size for bigger PG's like Billups.
This high motion offense is killing us,Rockets can't make nothing with it.
As far as I see only Bonzi plays good in high motion offense and no one else.
    It will be interesting...

Yeah, you are so right! No point guard that was picked almost as low as Tony Parker could ever make a difference in making a team a winner. What the hell is DD thinking?

Sam Cassell played at a major college and was drafted around the same time as AB. So what is your logic there?

    Give AB a shot!

It's Time... to give Brooks a shot. Looks like he's going to get that chance to show his stuff in practice according to RA. We're not getting what we need from the available PGs, so no better time than now to have Brooks see what he can do.

I can't believe the Rockets have another HC who doesn't like to play his rookies. Brooks may be a liability on the defensive end, but he is a much better shooter than every body else and he can run the offense.

Give him a chance Coach Idleman.

They would not give a chance to a rookie unless that rookie is a sure-to-be-star like SF and Yao.
