No. He is not the answer. He is fast. So what? He is not good PG either. And he is a rookie. You can't hope he can contribute too much. Try to find something more realistic.
And Morey feel free to trade any of the following players. Francis James Bonzi Battier Luther Snyder Novak Rafer Hayes Deke Landry The only must keepers are: Tmac Yao Scola Brooks This team is just not working....try BROOKS now.....or make a trade.....before it is too late. DD to trade so many players, you are kindding..
The players just don't fit Adelman's system. We aren't versatile enough to drive and pass like Dallas. It makes you wonder....are we really all that talented? Last year's inside-out game did a good job of covering up our lack of offensive talent. We just dumped it to Yao and let him do his thing. The perimeter guys just stood still and shot. Now that we're in a more "open" offense that leaves a lot of room to be creative, but our players lack creativity and versatility. I'd like to see Brooks more...and if we continue to play like this we should see him soon.
He should at least get a shot....but a trade would be fine with me too..... Andre Miller.....would be ideal......... But we have to get that 2nd penetrating player that can finish at the rim, draw fouls and set up the jump shooters. DD
You can win in the playoffs with good/hard defense and execution. You need talent for execution... and to hit open shots when T-mac and Yao are doubled (which they had in 2004-05). Most importantly, you need a coach who can recognize what he has, and adapt... which RA has definitely not. And in the process, they're no longer playing shut-down defense, they've had chemistry issues, and they no longer play like a team. And hell... right now, this team IS NOT GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS... not with the way the game plan they're going out with every night. No injuries, no excuses. I'd still rather win 52 games with an injured/no-talent team and lose in 7 games, than watch the dissapointment that is currently playing for us.
Not me, I would rather struggle until they find the right mix of players to make a serious run. I do agree though that Rick is not doing a good job of getting people comfortable or of dealing with egos and minutes. I think the Rockets have too many players that think they should be playing and their roles are not clearly defined, and for that I blame the coach. No, we are not getting the wide open looks that the Mavs and other elite teams are getting......tonight was a prime example.....the Mavs have the followng players that can drive and create their own shot as well as set up their teamates for a shot. Harris Terry Howard Stackhouse The Rockets have Tmac.....and that is not enough. DD DD
Randy Foyle. If we had him, we would have blown past Utah last year, and who know what would happen. JVG would be still here. It's not his fault. The milked out of the team pretty good. Adelman is not the right coach for this team.
Not automatically, but unless you're a basketball God like Lebron James, its a safe bet. A rookie can't realistically be expected to be the man or have any sort of real pressure or expectations.
Brooks would be interesting to look at but he's still a Rookie and will make rookie mistakes. Again, when everyone single one of our guards are posting career lows and yes that includes Rafer. It's not the guards. It's the system!!
Maybe they need starters that someone will actually have to guard. Adelman can't design an offense to give Hayes a 15' J or make Battier a beast of a finisher on a drive to the basket.
Add Battier, minus Brooks. Quick fixes the Rockets should look at: Snyder+pick for James Jones ??? for Earl Watson or Brent Barry to play PG.
I am for starting him until Rafer gets back, why not? If he plays better than Rafer then keep starting him. This team needs to make some radical moves to shake things up. I doubt that he will be the "miracle" the team needs, but it is worth a try. He might shock all of us. Anybody that can shoot could help turn this team around.
Scola? Absolutely. Battier? Alston, James, Francis or Brooks are all equally capable of passing to him as he stands in the short corner arc.
I would also think the same way. I'm disappointed that after he was called back up from the D-League he wound up sitting on the bench for this game until just the final 2 minutes of play with the game already decided. I say leave him there in the D-League if he's not going to play at all for the team. Then as time wears on (most preferably, a minimum of 10 D-League games), just watch for consistency in his game before deciding to bring him back up. The team should not be playing mind games with him.
