Some things never change.......no matter who the PG is... Coach? Or our players are too dumb to recognize who needs to get the last shot?
I have to agree. They don't come much better than Adelman, and the guys who ARE better ain't available. That said, Rick has the same number of wins this season as my ******* so far, and it's pissing me off a great deal.
San antonio defense forced it, they stayed home on the pick and roll and forced ish to make a play. Great coaching from pop as usual.
DD, which player/coach are you going to apeshi* on after each loss? Really, who's next? Choose your season-long whipping boy already, and get over it. We all know it won't be Chase. Rick is working with what he has right now. He helped put up a pretty darn good fight in the second half without any play-makers out there.
Adelman is one of the best in the business at drawing up offenses and it has worked for this team... but that can only take you so far, teams before this of his have had the same problems.. good teams but struggle down the stretch. Perhaps in terms of offense there's not much left to teach? Time to find someone who can draw up plays when they are needed in a game. I mean Manu Ginobili has called a successful late game play this year... Rick Adelman has not. That pretty much sums it up.
adelman totally out coached pop tonight...switch the players tonight and adelman would win by 20...its a talent league and we had very little talent on the floor...i mean ish smith cant shoot and the spurs forced him to shoot. if lowry was there or ab, we win by 10-15. why cant any of you recognize the greatness of adelman...have you been so spoiled that you no longer can see it???
Adelman has been awful this year... esp his personnel choices. He's done a great job in the past but, no excuses, he's not doing much right this year. He's gotta man-crush on Aaron Brooks and AB will be this team's downfall. His defense and decision making is awful.
When is the last time that call was made on the road in that situation? Jesus, are you seriously blaming Adelman for the loss?
He owned Pop. It's just too bad we couldn't hit an extra free-throw to seal it for him. Good thread, denniscd. Adelman has taken a lot of bs criticism on here.
No, I just can't stand that Rick doesn't get a little more into the games on the sidelines...... I like him as a coach.... DD
lets build him up then...even coaches have crisis of confidence...lets start a thanks to rick thread!! what do you say cf...lets let rick know how much we appreciate him.
It's not BS criticism. He has failed at plenty of late game calls and lineups, care to prove me wrong on this? I don't argue he is one of the best, it not THE BEST at drawing up offenses and getting the most out of his players but at the end of the day if you don't have the best players on your team(which we don't) you are going to have plenty of games come down to the last minute of the game and Rick has lost out poorly every single time in these situations. The team is better as a whole for what Rick has done with them but for it to go any further than a fringe playoff, possible 2nd round team that it is we need to be able to convert late when the pressure is on.
RA had finally turned this rocket to KINGS. He gave away what we're proud of ----defence! This team is no where going to deep into playoff under RA.
Nice to see someone giving Rick the props he deserves. No other coach in the league has it harder than him right now. No other coach has to deal with the complications of balancing out Yao's minutes. He kept the Rockets in the game without Aaron Brooks, Kevin Martin, Kyle Lowry, and Yao. As for the 0-5 record, I have a feeling the Rockets will do something crazy to turn it around as the season goes on...cue 22-game win streak.
