Then Morey can tell Kahn to continue writing letters to the fans about supporting their crappy team and then he can hang up the phone.
I think it's because rubio has legit pg size and is a top notch defender. His shot is coming along but he has nowhere near the range of brooks, but his ability to create for teammates is in a different world relative to brooks. Plus his handles are better than brooks too. I think rubio has superstar 2 way player written all over him, but I don't know if he can jump straight into the nba and dominate like cp3. I would be elated if the rox could somehow get him. Plus I don't think he would have any trouble getting a chinese endorsement deal so he can pay the contract buyout easier.
gonna have to explain that one. He had his list of teams where he was willing to go and dumbass minny drafted him anyway. He didn't want to come to the nba to play in a crappy market. Pretty sure if we did get his rights then we wouldn't have trouble signing him.
Hunh?!?!?!?! If he had been drafted higher, he would have likely played in the NBA this year. His buyout from his Spanish team is grotesque. The farther he slid in the draft, the less it made sense for him to play here. Of course, I'm sure he has his fingers crossed as to Minnesota trading his draft rights---no offense to Minnesota, but as someone who lived many years in the Midwest... (elipsis inserted, no words needed)
Already having Sergio Llull in our pocket, luring Ricky Rubio to the NBA to play for us will be a piece of cake.
Fairly nice, yes. And at the University of Iowa campus....during the warm months (i.e., NOT the months from October-March), the girls around campus, wearing their black-and-gold UI shorts, "IO" on the left cheek and "WA" on the other, and watching them walk....IO, WA, IO, WA.... Can't speak for Minnesota, too many letters, I think: MINNE, SOTA, MINNE, SOTA? Iowa works better. Hell, if Des Moines could support a team, Rubio would just flat out say, "I ain't playing there, uh-UNH, no way."
What? I was born in Des Moines......moved to Houston in 1972....and I was quoting the beach boys song..... DD
Yeah I was thinking the same thing, and Morey does seem to have a good eye when it comes to this sort of things.... What I like about Rubio's game is that it doesn't really involve that much athleticism ala Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, John Stolkton, so his game can last at high level much longer than some points that relied heavily on athleticism and explosion(ex Steve francis, Stephan Marbury, Baron Davis, etc) <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/g3O7aUPvSV4&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/g3O7aUPvSV4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> -RB
The kid can pass...that's all I saw. I didn't see much defense being played against him. How well does he handle physical play? Can he read pressing defenses well? Can he shoot? I believe once defenses find his weakness, it will be over.
Did you see him schooling Jason Kidd and the US Olympic team? Yeah, he was 17 years old at the time. Get a grip this guy is a once in a lifetime PG prospect. DD
