Before we drool all over the Suns FO lets remember they could have drafted Luka Doncic to pair with Booker and that would have set them up to be a dynasty.

Instead, right now, they are a respectable team. Not good enough to get past the Lakers or Warriors but they lost a lot of depth for this trade to pick up an aging player that does add leadership but they are going to miss that athleticism.

"The Phoenix Suns have a reached a deal to acquire All-Star point guard Chris Paul from the Oklahoma City Thunder for Ricky Rubio, Kelly Oubre, Ty Jerome, Jalen Leaque and a future first-round draft pick, a person with direct knowledge of the deal told USA TODAY Sports.

The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly until the deal is official." - USA today

    Side rant:
These news sources, if conducting regular business (players and trades), and you're not authorized to say stuff, why are people just leaking. I can understand harassment cases or whistle blower cases where, an employee is unfairly treated and they go to media. But if these people work at a company, and they like working there, why snitch on the company that writes the check. Maybe the ink isn't dry, but let teams formalize before leaking the news.

    --rant over.

they didn't lose a lot of depth. They replaced Rubio with cp3. The suns played significantly better without oubre. and the rest were non rotational players.

Sun are going to be a top 5 team.

    Can CP3 stay healthy?

Agree to disagree. Suns fans are not too happy about losing him. Great energy player, good role player.
It's a good fit for PHX, don't get me wrong, but they go from being a fringe playoff team to a solid 4-6 playoff team. They are going to be fighting the Jazz and Blazers for playoff positioning unless Ayton can take a big jump and that's what they are going to need from him because their goal right now should be to do whatever it takes to get Booker to re-sign long term.
CP3 is capable of getting the most out of that team but the man is 35, there is only so much he can bring at his age.

yup. I disagree. Somehow people believe oubre was some great player. he isn't. not something the suns will be missing especially with the development of their young guys Cameron and mikal. And they have the cap space to bring in some additional pieces
