Just to make the salaries work Rubio Oubre Kaminsky presti then turns those guys into 1st rounders at the trade deadline
Me reading the thread title before clicking it: "Wow, can't believe the Suns would be so dumb" Me after reading the tweet in the op is from Windy: "Oh i see..."
If he goes to Phoenix and turns them around then its another black eye on Morey's legacy here. You had CP3 and TRADED him because of your unwavering ass kissing of James Harden. Great GM's can manage ego's. But that clearly ain't Morey's strength
Always said it would make a lot of sense there. He'd keep them focused and hungry and they have too many young players and need to work on keeping Booker right now. Otherwise, we all know he'd head to some glamor team so they do need to make a move to at the very least be a team that contends for HCA.
You act like it wasn't Tillman forcing him to make the trade. He can manage Harden but Tillman was his boss.
CHRIS PAUL WAS TRADED BECAUSE TILMAN FERTITTA WANTED HIM TRADED. DARYL MOREY DID NOT WANT TO TRADE CHRIS PAUL. BULLSHIT LIKE BEING FORCED TO TRADE CHRIS PAUL BY AN INBRED OWNER IS WHY MOREY GOT THE HELL OUT OF TOWN.
The 76ers could need Chris Paul because of lack veterans also. If Ben Simmons was a Small Forward that can shoot it would make more sense.
CP3 / Booker / Ayton + 10th pick in this year's draft is pretty solid, and can definitely compete for a playoff spot.
I would watch a team with CP3, Booker and other young talent. I say other young talent because I have no idea who else is on that team.
They wouldn’t have to send Oubre due to their cap space. Rubio and Kaminsky would work. I’d be disappointed if OKC somehow lands value for CP, we ****ing traded 2 first and 2 swaps to get a worse player on a worse contract because of how “toxic” CP3s contract is, but OKC is going to move him without sending a single ****ing pick.
CP3's value jumped up after he carried the Thunder squad on his back. His last year with us, showed a decline in athleticism and he was a dud in the playoffs. We definitely gave up too much ultimately and our cheap/idiot owner told Morey to pull the trigger.
You're right I didn't see that they would have about $20 million in cap space if they renounce the rights to all of their free agents.
There may be some truth to what you say (and you have been consistent in your dismissive attitude toward James Harden, I'll give you that), but Morey wouldn't be the only GM to look down the barrel of a gun when his star player wants something. We wouldn't be the first team to have its star player say, "Trade me." Which might make you happy, but we've wandered the realm of irrelevance before. I can't blame Morey for fearing a return. The Rockets were always the second choice for free agents: "I was really blown away by the Rockets' presentation," is the popular refrain, right after the quoted player went elsewhere. To be fair, Westbrook was a move forced on Morey ("you have to make it work, James"; "oh, we will") and so OKC had leverage. It likely precipitated Morey's exit.
CP3 and MDA in PHX would be FUN. Booker can play and they have plenty of talented, underperforming guys. Just don't expect them to play fast.
