Speed Racer trailer (for better or worse, it's what anime looks like in real life)

    Wow, that looks incredible!

The imagination of some movie makers these day it simply amazing. I know its easy to talk about a lot of the bland movies pumped out, but then you get one like this and you have to be amazed at all the thought that goes into creating the visual worlds in these sort of films.

I don't know, I get tired of all the CGI in movies these days. Just seems lazy. I was hoping to see a REAL version of the Mach-5, not a video game version.

I feel the same way. Lot of action movies overdose on CGI and it takes the fun out of it. I mean i watch action scenes and I'm amazed at the older movies because that stuff is a real stunt with danger involved.

Nowadays I'm like *yawn* guy sitting at a computer drawing that up. CGI is the easy way out.

I can buy Emile Hirsch as Speed. Matthew Fox as Racer X is an interesting choice, though. Wasn't that role supposed to go to Keanu?

Looks more like a live-action version of F-Zero or Wipeout to me, but hey, that's cool. Hopefully, the cartoonish CGI will be tightened up a bit by the release.

I'm ok with that. I friggin love F-Zero! I never cared for Speed Racer. In fact, I've never seen a single episode. But if you're gonna do a live action adaptation, this is probably the best route to go.

I probably won't see it on the bigscreen since the last two Matrix flicks sucked and I didn't care for V For Vendetta. But it'll look amazing on HD-DVD/Blu-ray.

As big of a fan I am of Keanu Reeves, I think Matthew Fox is a better choice. I mean...the guy can act where as Keanu....

With the way everyone was dogging the trailer I was expecting it to suck. I thought it actually looked pretty decent for a kid movie.

Just saw it, pretty trippy like an epileptic seizures inducing funhouse ride. The acting does look pretty stiff.

Actors like Emile Hirsch and Shia Lebouf suck ass. Yet they keep getting cast in all the biggest movies. The movie industry is a joke.

Have you seen Into The Wild? If you have, and you still think Hirsch is a sub par actor, then...to each his own, I guess.

Count me in as one of those interested in seeing this. I don't think the CGI is a cop-out in this case. It's bringing a unique visual style that creates a surreal atmosphere that probably wouldn't work any other way. Same w/ other movies like 300.

If you're complaint is that you'd rather see a hard-core realistic rendition of the cartoon, that I can understand. But clearly the visuals play a major role in the style they've decided to go with here.

He's getting some Oscar run for that role. He was even pretty good in a silly movie like The Girl Next Door.

I don't mind Shia that much either, but I still don't know if I can picture him as Indiana Jones' kid.
