I get that cyber just got this info and I appreciate it, but this is the least surprising thing ever.
I was about to ask the same question. I keep seeing Lowry's name mentioned as a target/possibility, but I don't recall ever seeing anything from a credible news source to indicate that he might be made available by Toronto.
He gets paid a lot, he was horrible for half the season, and there's good reason to believe that everyone in Toronto is available. Everyone knows that the Raptors' success this season wasn't be design, and with the way they flamed out in the postseason the assumption is that they're going to have a firesale.
It has been reported that Masai Ujiri plans on keeping HC Dwayne Casey around. He and Lowry have had problems this season. With Toronto's season ending the way it did, it is also reported that they may blow it up this off-season.
Thanks Bima! Respect all of your work. Actually emailed a few articles of Yours to an assistant GM who really loves your stuff!
The cyberx / bimathug tandem is unstoppable. cyberx drops the bombs, and bima comes in to give insight as to why it makes logical sense from a front office stand-point.
Got it. Thanks. So this is two teams in a row that Lowry has had issues with the coach. I can understand that it may have just been the frustration of being on an underperforming team, but that has to start being a red flag eventually. On the plus side, it could give a sliver of leverage to a team interested in trading for him.
I think we should try to keep papa. He is a Delly type player and shows heart. We need a lot more of that this year. Maybe after a summer of getting his conditioning, strength, and quickness training he can show up for camp ready to go. DMO was written off after his first year... now he was 2nd option for the team the whole year. Kpap really deserves a chance at least to prove himself.
No need to break stuff, or cry, over internet comments. It's only a basketball message board and all I was referring to was the non-guaranteed nature of the contract makes the decision trivial.
