Crispee, even if Woods has handles close to advertised, would you still want him even if he's not the smartest player? Personally, it's not enough for me that our SF has handles. If our SF is really going to make a difference via his handles, I'd want someone who can play point forward like Odom or Quitten. I know Woods is supposed to have mad skills, but to me, picking up another scorer who is more productive creating his own shot than feeding off his teammates is not what the team needs right now, unless those are percentage shots in the low post or elsewhere. I'd only want him if he can help create for his teammates (something more than perimeter shots). Otherwise, I'd be concerned about selling the farm for him.

I could very well see the Rockets trading their top pick. Not for Big Dog however, I hope. I don't want another scorer unless he's money from the perimeter or down low. And I'd be up for using the Toronto pick to move up, trade for a veteran, etc., but if we can't get a pick that clearly helps the team like the Eddie Griffin pick, I'd rather send it over to Memphis.

    Popeye's back! Fantastic!

I hope you brought your spinach cause you're going to need it with this new troop...

So is Rashard a possibility... How about Kwame Brown... Is KT on the block and I understand why we might give up on Langhi but why Collier. True centers are hard to come by even bad ones...

    Glad to have you back!

I had to check one more time to make sure your name wasn't oei|pere.

I guess this means we are going to make a push for Rashard. :) Either that or we're going to try to bringing back Shandon Anderson. :(

I'm surprised that both Mobley and Francis are not untouchable.

Mobley will go before Francis does. It will be easier to replace Mobley than it will Francis. I got an idea, why doesn't Steve play the two?????

    Pops,
Is Collier 'butchie'? Rudy hinted that Langhi and Jason won't be back next year.

I'm sorry; was I talking to you? :)

That was intentional on my part. :p But if it's that important to you, I'll forget Crispee ever existed. Although his post count might actually have surpassed yours.

    So...thoughts on Woods (again?)

Is this some kind of bizzare cognative mobus strip, designed to blow up my brain? It makes no sense as a collection of words.

Reading this leaves me feeling like that Borg kid in that Star Trek:TNG episode where they whacked out the Borg with a nonsencical picture.

The Rashannon is clear enough, but who is Mickey Fleetwood and friends? The only thing I get out of Mickey Fleetwod is Aaron McKie? Any ideas folks?

    2 posabilities.

#1. It just a completion of the theme of Rhiannon, the song which is by Fleetwood Mac. In otherwords it means nothing.

#2. Of course, if you look at who wrote the song Rhiannon, it's credited to Stevie (K)Nicks

    Your mean.

I agree with you. We can't assume he has the charisma and decision-making of Kobe and McGrady. If he doesn't, then how much is a 3 inch taller Jason Richardson worth? I'm beginning to believe that the extra 3 inches in a full-package player (dribbler, shooter, leaper) gives them a much easier ability to see over defenders, get off controlled, undetered shots, and just overall execute with more ease. Exactly, how many draft picks are there to compare him too in the last 5 or so years, considering the extra 3-4 inches over most shooting guards?

popeye: some questions on Jermaine O'Neal. . .

    1) is he a free agent this summer?

    2) is he a guy the Rockets talk about much?

    3) what do you think it would take [via trade or free agency] to acquire J. O'Neal?

I have a feeling that he will be more of an Anfernee Hardaway than Tmac. Which would not be bad as long as he is not injure prone and has a better attitude than Hardaway.

I'm not pops but I can answer most of these.

    1) not this summer, next summer I believe

    2) no idea, don't think it matters too much if they do

    3) Well since we have no cap space now or in the future, it would have to be a trade. He is their franchise player so it would take a lot. Franchise+ or Griff+++(if he improves). He is most likely untouchable unless he doesn't want to re-sign.

I think Mickey Fleetwood & friends is Tracy Mcgrady. Fleetwood Mac. I don't know? I don't think he'll be a Rocket, though.

    OP,

Have you been taking cryptology lessons from Doc Rocket? :D

Does the Mickey Fleetwood & friends comment refer to Mike Miller?

Since Atlanta is facing the possibility of not having a 1st round pick, would the Rockets entertain the idea of making a run at Nazr Mohammed, in exchange for Moochie/Collier/#14 pick? Or, is Moochie unavailable?

Hottodie, I like that trade idea. Of course, that's unless we need both picks to get Ming.

I was not intentionally trying to be too cryptic.

Trying to have a "musical" night and go to bed. I did warn you I was very tiredd and was listening to a weird mix as i crashed for twelve hours.

    Anyway ...

Rashannon is Rashard Lewis ... PS - Mickey Fleetwood was for Fleetwood (Mickey) & Mac (Mc Vie) founders of Fleetwood Mac - tie in with Rashard Lewis ... Riannhon .... ah forget it, I was half baked at the time.

Focus on the three and four ... yeqh I know we have aenough fours, but I am just telling it like it is being talked at Greenway. They really think they stick with Cato next year. Three and four is the talk! Rashard is top topic.

Langhi is gone ... done deal see ya'

Collier is gone ASAP ... trying to find a taker or a waiver ....

The news is ... regardless of Les's testimony and RT's denial ... they are trying to tie the draft pick around a move that would include Rice's contract .... sort of a here's our pick, give us something we want and we will give you something we don't want .... watch for the beaters at the door or at least some Mormons asking politely if they can talk to us ... happening already ....

Francis and Mobes inquiries all year long ... nothing that RT or CD will even contemplate ... but, the discussions are listened to by those above ... I seriously doubt anything will ever pull these two guys out of the Rocket uni ... but as I said they listen politely to the offers ...

KT's stock way up and offers earlier this second half were very attractive.

    Cheers ...

pops, regarding rice's contract (and draft pick), do you see them bringing in a Rashard (or Odom), or do you see them settling for Caron Butler (or Woods), if they cannot find any takers on Rice's contract?
