DD,you need give them a break, they played 3 games in last 7 days.
here are some numbers about us soccer team
    Distance Covered

The top three players in the competition for distance covered are all members of the U.S. National team. Michael Bradley (36,426 meters) is first, Clint Dempsey (34,855 meters) second, and Landon Donovan (34,263 meters) third.
hard working and hustle are important in soccer game.
but i think us needs more skills

As an Aussie I say well played for taking it to them, was rooting for you! Have only seen the highlights however. Without trying to be to biased how was the referee in the match? I ask because I know when we played them in the World Cup they got a really really better deal with the ref because they are the big super power of world football and apparently it happens quite a bit with them when they are playing the perhaps 'lesser' teams like the US and Aus. I am really looking forward to the World Cup now some of the less likely teams have knocked off the big dogs over the last year, hopefully they can bring it to South Africa next year!

The U.S. are the masters of STAY-BACK-AND-COUNTERATTACK, not offering a true game, but it works for them only with some teams. They can beat those without speed at the back and strong defenders. 2 counter-attack goals vs. 2 well-manufactured attacking goals won't beat the better team.

Against SPAIN, the U.S. had 2 shots on goal versus 8 of Spain. Total goals: U.S. 2, Spain 0. talk about opportunities wasted.

This defintely makes me feel better about next summer. The only thing I don't like about this showing is that we won't be surprising teams.

You see that cute little red square under member?

This is one of the reasons why.

Yet again, I could understand you're argument if the US really squandered balls, took bad shots, and so on. In the first half there was a lot of that after the second goal. In the second half, the US barely even saw the ball. I'm sorry, but I don't see how someone could squander a lead when they don't even get a chance to touch the ball. Brazil dominated the possessions and continually clamped down on us. They got wise to our strategy, and unfortunately Bradly did not feel the need to inject the right personnel to change things up. There was no reason for Lando to be in the game past the 60th minute. He was stinking up the joint. Instead, Bradley pulls Joezy, go figure...

Actually, that's exactly the attitude that I want to see from them. You said it yourself time and time again in this thread. Don't just be happy to be there. I'm glad we got to a final of a FIFA competition for the first time...the first CONCACAF team to do so (no, the Copa America and Gold Cup are not FIFA competitions). I was actually disappointed that they lost the final, though.

I love how you still s*** on the tactics, while at the same time, Mexico tied that powerhouse Guatemala 0-0. Our tactics beat Spain and nearly beat Brazil. What did Mexico's tactics get them? I sure hope you guys can at least manage a goal against Nicaragua.

And to those of you arguing with DaDakota...don't forget that he once coached 5 yr old soccer. He knows what he's talking about.

Jozy was being lazy, he should have been pulled earlier.

I have coached for 12 years, lots of levels....and yes, 5 year old was one of them....so back off jack......

    MadMax, very true.
    :D LOL! You're ignorant.

Check yourself before you wreck yourself, sir. The U.S. is not the first CONCACAF team to make it to an official FIFA competition final. Check again, please, before I correct you. You won't be surprised to find out who made it from CONCACAF (and even WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP!) before the U.S. made it to this final. Also, check your U-17 history.

Pizza_Da_Hut, there's someone who brings up Mexico before I do. Want to do your little rant again?

Talk to Bradley about tactics, sir... 8 men back and counter-attacks worked fine... got 2 goals... for one half only.

I remember reading about this kid in a soccer magazine a year and a half ago. I guess he's not getting any run with the Mexican team, so he wants to get some run with the US team.

There are a lot of kids in my neighborhood that play soccer, and it kinda annoys me when they wear the Mexican National Jersey despite being born here.

    ^ LOL - leroy420 - pwnd. :D
He's got marital problems and wants to run away from them. "If they call me" doesn't only sound funny, but it sounds like a great cover-up for personal problems not discussed in that GOAL.com article. :p His wife is withholding his passport because he hasn't paid some dues and now he wants to "play for another country."

I will stand by what I said before: play for the country where you were born and raised. Don't give me this "new rule" crap. Why didn't Aguirre even consider him? Maybe he's not better than the players we already have? Cool. Be my guest... "oh, yeah? Well, good riddance, ya looney!" <- name that movie.

Why are we even discussing this stuff here? It has nothing to do with the 2009 Confederations Cup.

You see thats the thing...here in the Junited Estates...we have choices. You should have known this when you got off your donkey in Brownsville.

You know I fell in love with Brasil while watching Team Flamengo play in Rio de Janiero at Maracana Stadium.

^ So... was that your choice BEFORE or AFTER they won it all?

You didn't cheer for the Estados Unidos at all? Choice, eh?

I've been a Brasil fan since my trip there.......because.........wait.........thats when I saw my first match. I grew up with American football but after attending a game at Maracana (Flamengo vs Vasco).......it was amazing. I was never a Futball fan until then.

Did I cheer for US when they played Brasil? No

Yes, thats my choice. I get it all of the time from friends....so go ahead and tell me something.

Fair enough. Well, thanks a lot, mister dissenter. Cheering for a World Cup Champ team you think you're all bad.

Wearing another team's jersey even though you're born here... you'll annoy your neighbor Kam. ;)
