Isn't there anyone FROM the U.S. that can do the color commentating in ESPN? Why must we have "foreigners" doing that instead of someone born and raised here? How about Glenn Davis or heck, even, Wynalda or Balboa?
They usually have Americans commentating the US games. But a lot of people think that people with accents are better commentators, just because of the accents. Also, ESPN broadcasts the games in a lot of other countries besides the US so it's not that strange to have a more international presentation.
I'm just saying... isn't ESPN U.S. based? Well, have some U.S.-based commentators, gosh-darn it... it's not difficult, Disney... c'mon. GOLAZO! EDIT: GOLAZO again!!!! Go read my first post. THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!
A few good things for the US: a)Egypt can't defend set pieces, which a a huge strength for the US b)Brazil defense looks really shaky c)a draw would be a very good result for the US
I might have been wrong about Egypt. They're pretty good. It just reaffirms my feelings that these groupings are pathetic.
^ WTH? Who cares about the groupings, really? If you're good, you're good! If you can "barely" get past Egypt, are you REALLY that good? , then Sincerely, Spoiler Dunga.
Until the handball they did, but that was clearly a hand ball.... Egypt was solid, and Brazil doesn't look as good on D as they should. Great match. DD
Damn, Brazil looked awful. They looked like one of those boring European teams like Sweden (no offense to my Swedish brothers) or something (ok maybe not that bad, maybe England). What happened to the crisp, accurate, passes, brilliant individual skill, superb ball control. There defense has always been mediocre but this time it was just terrible. They've got a year to get thier **** together because if they bring this crap to the World Cup they'll have a hard time getting past the group stages.
Here's the team for the US: Howard Spector Demerit Onyewu Bornstein Feihaber Clark Bradley Dempsey Donovan Altidore Let's hope this looks like more of a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 than the reported 4-4-2. Surely Bob has learned that Benny is a disaster as an outside mid. Bocanegra misses out due to injury.
^ You'll see Donovan more withdrawn towards the left side and coming back to get the ball from the mids. Feilhaber will probably stay a little more central and open up the space for Bornstein to make overlapping runs through. Same on the other side with Dempsey/Spector. SwoLy...Spain gets 3 teams that even Mexico could beat. What does that tell you? I think it's great experience to play 3 very good teams and can only help. I just think the groupings could have been a little better spread out.
