I thought technically JVG was the 2nd interview. He interviewed on Wednesday and talks continued into Thursday. I guess maybe that's not considered a "2nd interview".
I don’t think that any of the three finalists would make Morey quit. It would have to be a name out of left field full of controversy like Mark Jackson or a coach out of left field that will want full roster control like Popovich. I think the hire is one of the three finalists and I think Morey would have been okay with any of them, obviously Lucas the least but not enough to quit over.

When I moved to North Carolina I kept an eye on the Hornets and Bobcats when Paul Silas coached them. He struck me as a true stand up guy--a mentor type coach. I can't say he was a great coach, but he was warm and friendly with the media and represented the city well. Hiring his son at this point in his career would be a risk, but if the players are okay with him, and he and the new GM are on the same page, I think the Rockets could do a lot worse. Atkinson would bring some energy to the sidelines, and JVG perhaps a little spunk and fight, but I'm not sure how either of them would mesh with James, especially if we're not winning. John Lucas has coached some terrible teams but, watching him during timeouts, it's obvious the players respect and listen to him, so there's that...

Hire this man. He's the best option available now. He learned from some of the best, coached on teams with some of the best players currently in the league who love him, and despite his young age, if you don't count broadcasting, actually has more NBA experience than JVG. I love JVG, but I love the Rockets more. If he ends up sucking, you didn't see this.

The only problem is that he'll be working for Tilman, so it'll probably be a disaster, but let's overlook that for now!
