Silas has paid his dues, that’s for sure. I don’t know if 20 years of bouncing around the league is good or bad, but he’s definitely been out there.
IMO The selection of HC will offer insight into FO’ perception of this roster’s reality. Bring in Luke and it’s run-it-back, we believe GSW/LAL/LAC are within our wheelhouse. Bring in Silas and it’s time for a reset. Bring in JVG and it’s uh, it’s uh, I’m not really certain.
I think if they bring in Lucas, that means they are going a player development route. Going younger. Probably moving off Westbrook. Possibly to the Knicks. With Silas or JVG, I think that means they think we are close. They want to build a top 10 defense to go along with a top 10 offense.
give me Silas Why even bring in JVG? He’s not winning a title with this roster, and we’ve already had him before. Bring in the newer, younger coach, and let’s see what he’s got instead of settling for the retread.
I’m satisfied that your guesstimate is equal to, better or lesser than mine. Frankly, a good, solid reset sounds fine by me.
JVG will improve the defense but is he worried about a possible rebuild that could start as soon as next year. Silas is an offensive guy and the mavs ran a similar offense to us but do we want to stick with that ?
I wanted Silas before MDA, and now he's gotten even more experience under a great coach, so this year i'm a little more torn probably due to the roster itself, but i'm leaning Silas again. I love JVG, and it could go really bad or really good with him, but i just dont see Harden meshing with JVG's ways. That's why Harden wants Lucas. A guy who has no place to to stand in Harden's way. Harden getting his way and just doing what he wants out there isn't leading us anywhere. No one else wants Lucas, just bring him back on the roster as a player development coach like he's been since 2016. The guy is almost 70 and hasn't coached since the early to mid 90s with poor records. Ridiculous to even seriously consider him.
Hope we see a woj bomb with the rockets hiring Silas. Perfect mix of win now and lead us into the future. And he will play guys like Bruno and younger players.
Hire Silas. Blow it up. Let him coach through the growing pains. Find the next franchise player(s) via draft.
why on earth would we hire a coach before we've hired a new GM? wouldn't it make sense to hire a GM that has a vision for the team and have him be part of the process that choses the coach? this is freaking stupid. makes me worried that this entire process is going to be f#cked that said ... i really like Stephen Silas.
We are definitely not in a position to “win now”. You know that as well if you’re talking about Bruno getting run.
