TONS of hope! But the Fakers have been playing so well this year I would be amazed.

Trust me, I'm the die-hard fan at the office. Opening night I was sitting with the Rowdys. I even have the t-shirt to prove it!

I *hope* the Rockets can take down L.A. with every ounce of my body. I just don't see it happening this season.

Next season, with a healthy McGrady in the line-up and Adleman working a McGrady / Artest / Ming offense after a summer of practice, I DEFINITELY see a title there.

Of course, these are the playoffs. Anything can happen, like Golden State defeating Dallas a few years back.

Trust me - my hope is there 100%.

Sorry - I left this tidbit off:

Wafer is my new hero. Undoubtedly. He seems to come through in clutch situations. If the Rockets DO actually get to the 2nd round and they DO take on the Lakers, I see Wafer as the X-factor. He's just awesome when he wants to be.

    Shoot that grease, Wafer.

Now Rookies can create threads as well? Wait, aren't you the guy fantasizing about being raped by Lakers or Kobe or whomever in the 2nd round in NBA Dish?

It's like saying, you should live for a day if you can't be the richest guy in the world. Whatever wet dream you have about Kobe, keep it to yourself.

Perhaps you misread. No one said anything about expectations. The OP that you so vigorously defended was about should whether anyone should even bother getting their hopes up in the first place, followed by flat-out saying that the Rockets won't beat the Lakers if they make it to the second round. I mean, most people here will admit they don't expect Houston to win should they face LA, but it's "way beyond r****ded" not to have any hope for it at all.

Just disappointed with the OP. What kind of fan is this?

The rockets will try their best. Even if we lose (like most people predict), we won't lose without a fight and put our pride at stake. We'll give the lakers every problem that we can give and make them earn their victory.

I feel that we will get a confident boost if we can beat blazers convincingly, especially if we can win the 2nd game on the road, and will have a feeling that they can win the series against lakers

Until you realize there's no way the league will let the 2nd biggest market in the country lose to Houston. ;)

This is the most dumbest thread I've seen. This guy sounds like everybody on ESPN, ABC, and TNT. Really F#@ all of them cause all they do is say oh I wonder if the Cavs can beat the Lakers in the Finals and all that bull. They never give anybody respect especially not the Rockets who have proven time and time again that all they do is play with adversity. Look at the Jazz all year ESPN were saying they were a good team but since Carlos Boozer was hurt thats why there not playing well. We won 22 in a row without Yao for most of that run, and we didnt get anybody saying that. If it does not have Matt Bullard, Bill Worrell and Clide Drexler commentating, it aint worth watching. F### Marv Albert.

No, you should feel terrible and immediately stop watching the rockets and MOST importantly, stop posting on CF.

Even with two healthy stars, Houston has a very small chance of winning the title. You should quit watching the Rockets altogether. Bye, have a nice day.

We start dying the moment we're born. As each day passes, we're one day closer to the day we die. Would it be better then if we had not lived at all? Or do we grasp what's given to us and live each day as if it's the last day of our lives?

In life, there're ups and downs, highs and lows and ecstasy and despair. But we always live in hope. We become nothing when we stop dreaming. When we die, we take nothing with us, not even the rings we might have won - but why should that stop us from experiencing life to the fullest.

We're seeded no. 5 and the Lakers are no. 1. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that we won't be favourites to win a 7-game series against them. But you know what? Yao & co. will bust their asses trying to overcome the odds - as long as there's a 1% chance, they'd take it.

Oh, it'll be sad if we lose in the 2nd round to the Lakers. It'll be sadder if we somehow contrive to lose in the 1st round to the Blazers. But what's saddest is your approach to all this.

I sincerely hope, for your sake, that you don't adopt the same approach to life.
