Shave his head and you’ll really see that he’s 6’9”

    Scola at 27 years old : 24.7 mpg 10.3 pts 6.4 rebounds 1.3 assists 0.7 steals 0.2 blocks 1.3 to 2.9 pf 54.8% ts%(taking no 3 pts)
    Sengun at 19 years old: 20.7 mpg 9.7 pts 5.5 rebounds 2.6 assists 0.8 steals 0.9 blocks 2 to 3.0 pf 55.2% ts%

Sengun is 8 years ahead in the developmental curve. Scola is no goal for him, as long as he can stay on the court defensively.

I could be wrong but he could very well be 6'8. I've met Hakeem and stood next to him, he's 6'9. And in that picture, Hakeem looks taller, not too much but taller.

I think Sengun is a 4/5, he needs to get stronger. Like I said he's 20 yrs old, so he has a longtime to develop.

Why not play him at PF??? If really 6’8” with only 1/10th the athletism of Bruno, then he should not be a center. I think Jabrari is athletic enough to play SF. should consider starting Bruno at center.

The way I see it, it is not clear right now how well Sengun will do on D. He is 20, it is too early to judge though. He is just finding his full body strength and he needs to play with Jabari to see how well they fit. There are issues but it is certainly too early to give up on him. And he is not a starting caliber center yet. It is easier to accept this and see how he does throughout the season.

On the offensive side, I think the assessment of a non-fit is simply incorrect. It is mostly based on a preseason game with a high tempo where our backcourt hit their shots, and we still lost. Yes the second unit was horrible, but on other days the backcourt will not be hitting those shots, or will face tougher d and you'll have to open up the play. And that's where Alpi comes much more useful, than an alternative like Bruno.

Isn't he too slow for that?

And it’s the usual suspects hating on Alp. The dude is not an unathletic scrub. He defends switches well and put up good stocks. He has to improve defensively and from range, but this dude is one of the highest upside players on the team and some here want to put Bruno in? FOH
    Silas system is flawed

[Last year] Green simply not good enough
[Jabari in Summer League] Jabari simply not good enough
    Garuba simply not good enough
    Tate simply not good enough
    Nix simply not good enough
    Silas simply not good enough
    Tilman simply not good enough

Trade them while their value is high.

let the kids play, grow and mature. Sengun is going to be solid starter in this league for many years to come and I hope its for the rockets. .

He has a 7ft wingspan according to most sites. Nba.com somehow has him 2 inches taller at 6ft 11 on its current site up 2 inches since last seasons listing. Tate also grew in height somehow at 26. Regardless guys comparable to his height who are starters have longer wingspans. Robert Williams has a 7 ft 5 wingspan. Isiah Stewart 7 ft 4. Bam has a 7ft 2 wingspan. And Rocket legend Capela has a 7ft 4 wingspan. Even 1 inch can be a big difference in terms of wingspans when it comes to tipping or grazing balls and changing their course or direction.

7’1 wingspan on most sites, same as Jabari

Crazy seeing so many people bashing dudes who are 20 years old. Like really?! Please don’t pull the opposite of a Cato…there was about 5-7k fans who left the Astros game early on Tuesday. Bet they regret their overreaction as well.

Sengun is a player equivalent to where we drafted him, if he were to be in another draft, i think he goes in a similar position, so we got what we expected (Clutchfans just over values him for some reason as a super star), no sense is just trading someone who needs to be developed. I would just play him and if we are bad, we get another good pick.

Just weird that OP (and others who share OP's POV) go on to list all of Sengun's negatives and then go on to say "trade him while his value is high!"

That's like saying "hey, I have this rock that can make you time travel if you squeeze it, but [lists 20 negative things]. Despite all that, its value is definitely high! Trussssst me, bro!"

Like, the other GMs in the league aren't stupid. They're not going to suddenly trade their team's treasure for our perceived "trash." Whatever Sengun's negatives are, they'll show up on tape - the same tape that other GMs and talent scouts evaluate about a player that they potentially want.

No one is for trading him, but if you point out his flaws and say he needs to work on them to fit in, that is not hating either.

Some of you are weak minded with calling everything hate.

Never make it in Philly....toughen up buttercups!
