I think Udrih is a terrific facilitator but that's just me and nobody knows how good guys like Evans, Hawes, Thompson, Casspi, etc... will become. Martin and Garcia are solid players, too. I know Martin gets a bad rap and may not be in the mix down the line but he is an amazingly efficient offensive player.
I just appreciate that they say it like it is and dog them if they're lazy and such...they do have their moments with the unnecessary praising.
Landry should get Warrior of the Year before even seeing the rest of the candidates. Chuck Norris pisses his pants when he hears Carl Landry's name.
I've heard a lot of praise about the Lakers announcers. I was wondering how positive and impartial they would be if the Lakers were a struggling lottery team. Dominance can make it easy to be complimentary towards opposing teams when you know that in the end, your team is going to finish on top almost every night. I'm not saying they aren't always like this but were the same commentators covering the Lakers during their down years? If so, were they this easy going and impartial during those times?
Martin is going to be an intriguing decision they will need to make. Like I said before I don't think Evans should be running the point so IMO they should move Martin but its not cut and dry. I wonder what kind of package they can get for Martin and his contract?
I think the key for the Kings will be how Hawes and Thompson develop. If one or both of those guys become studs, I think it's safe to say Evans will be among the elite perimeter players eventually, assuming health doesn't become an issue. If they establish a strong frontcourt, I think everything else will fall into place, including the PG position, whether they stick with Udrih or look elsewhere.
He's improved a lot but he's still a plodding oaf with poor footwork. I feel like he'll be an injury concern often over the course of his career and I think he'll always battle consistency and attitude issues, especially once Kobe is gone and the Lakers are no longer a dominant team.
WOW we drafted Kenny Thomas 11 years ago...seems like yesterday when I was criticizing the gang for that pick.
Hawes is a really nice player. High IQ, can shoot from outside, great passer, good on the boards, some post moves... He's got a pretty high ceiling in my mind... he reminds me of players like Brad Miller and Okur.
lags a bit but can use till the other works again. http://www.atdhe.net/11400/watch-sacramento-kings-vs-la-lakers
