Is Evans back yet? Anyhow, I'm hoping for a good game. Sacramento has been a fun team to watch so far this season.
Courtesy of Rotorworld Tyreke Evans will not play on Friday, missing his third straight game due to a sprained ankle. Fans and owners wanted to see Tyreke vs. Kobe, Round 2, but it's not going to happen. Evans could miss one more game with the injury, but he'll hopefully be back in action for the upcoming week. I picked up Donte Green for today, hopefully he'll give me some good stats.
Also Ron Artest is out again on Friday due to a concussion suffered in a fall in his home. That makes four straight misses, which was a worst-case scenario coming in. Hopefully this is the last one he'll miss, but that is far from guaranteed.
I keep hearing good things about Donte this season but I've barely seen him play. The few Sac games I caught, he wasn't getting much burn. I'm going to try to pay attention to him tonight.
I might watch the 2nd half if the Kings keep it close because I don't think they have a chance even with the Lakers slumping lately.
I actually think the Kings are one of the few teams who can match the Lakers size with Thompson, Hawes and Casspi...
Watching Gasol handle the ball like that on the break is an amazing sight. He really is a special offensive player. So well-rounded in that respect. Donte looking good early.
A few weeks back I remember having to defended that dirt bag in the Gasol/Odom vs Scola/Landry thread. I hated to defend a Laker but Gasol is Fantastic big man and that move he pulled proved my point.
I wouldn't put it that way. Odom is very much like Gasol in the sense that he's an extremely long body that can do so many things on the offensive end outside of what you'd usually expect from a player with his body type at his position. Gasol's heart was often questioned, too. I agree with your point that he's nowhere nearly as consistent as Gasol but they also share a rare similarity in terms of their offensive well-roundedness for big men. In that sense he's not anti-Gasol at all.
Hawes is listed at 7'1. Thompson is 6'11. Casspi looks at least the 6'9 he's listed at. Green is listed at 6'11. The Kings started all 4 of those guys along with Udrih. That's about as long of a starting 5 as you'll find in the league. They actually had more length than the Lakers' starting 5.
What??? Hawes is a good 7-1, Thompson 6-11 and Casspi 6-9 is showing to be VERY skilled...they are not better, don't get me wrong but they are skilled for bigs.
It'll be interesting to see how Greene turns out. A 6-11 forward with terrific ball control and outside shooting. It's a shame, I wish we kept him.
