Let me just put it on record that i love this thread and support lakerpride. But you might want to wait a couple more post before you start calling out the entire board.
With there current pg flaws they might be forced to consider that though i dont really like the trade for either team.
Thats what every team in the league wants a guy who cant make a unguarded layup and is to slow or small to d-up on any one hopefully my conpieracy theory will spread because i am telling yall the only way that guy makes a roster is if he is secretly Les's son
Can't wait for Lakers vs Kings now
if lakers are real serious about gettin jho, id like to see this trade go down.. Houston Trade Breakdown Outgoing Juwan Howard 6-9 PF from Michigan 11.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.7 minutes Incoming Chris Mihm 7-0 C from Texas 10.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.0 apg in 26.2 minutes Brian Cook 6-9 PF from Illinois 7.9 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 0.9 apg in 18.9 minutes Change in team outlook: +6.3 ppg, +3.0 rpg, and +0.5 apg. L.A. Lakers Trade Breakdown Outgoing Chris Mihm 7-0 C from Texas 10.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.0 apg in 26.2 minutes Brian Cook 6-9 PF from Illinois 7.9 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 0.9 apg in 18.9 minutes Incoming Juwan Howard 6-9 PF from Michigan 11.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.7 minutes Change in team outlook: -6.3 ppg, -3.0 rpg, and -0.5 apg. _____________ Successful Scenario Due to Houston and L.A. Lakers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and L.A. Lakers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. chris mihm would provide us insurance as a backup center or pf in case either yao or deke goes down (i HOPE NOT). brian cook will add perimeter shooting for us to spread out the floor even more and his hustle is undeniable. i live in l.a. so i basically see every laker game there is and besides a guy named kobe, this kid really impressed me the most in that team. i doubt the lakers would even consider doing this but its not wrong for me to dream. lol. i wish we could get cato for the vet minimum though.
Well, Mihm's contract is an expiring deal that could be used along with our first round draft pick to entice Toronto to send us Mo Pete if Mo Pete decides he wants out of Toronto and informs them he won't re-sign with them. Or we could send them Snyder, Cook, and Head along with a first rounder to get them to turn over Mo Pete. It would give us a lot of options.
The only way you trade Howard to the Lakers is if you get Kobe in return. You simply do not trade a player of his caliber within your conference, especially to a rival who you will be battling for a playoff spot. The effects of a Howard to L.A. trade could haunt this franchise for years. Howard would replace the inside scoring and provide the interior presence that L.A. has been missing since Shaq left. The duo of he and Kobe would easily be the most dynamic in the entire league and would guarantee Kobe atleast get that 5th ring for the thumb. The trio of Howard-Odom-Kobe would be rivaled by only Bird-McHale-Parish. Do not give the Lakers the missing peice.
That pretty much sums up this whole thread. I hope many Laker fans have read your post, because it is simply the TRUTH!!
If Juwan could net us Brian Cook, I think I might wet myself. Our shooting at the 4--Battier and Cook--would be just sick. Shame it won't happen.
i think i remember reading that mo pete wanted to stay in toronto. the article was from a while though, during the season. wow, this thread only started a few hours ago.
2006-2007 Houston Rockets PG: Rafer Alston PPG: 15.9 RPG: 3.8 APG: 11.5 SG: Tracy McGrady PPG: 28.9 RPG: 8.9 APG: 5.9 SF: Kirk Snyder PPG: 9.9 RPG: 5.9 APG: 2.2 PF: Shane Battier PPG: 14.5 RPG: 10.2 APG: 3.6 C: Yao Ming PPG: 26.9 RPG:11.2 APG: 2.9 --- That makes me laugh. Battier Double-double. Thats the number of assists the suns averaged last year. Add just 4 rebounds from bench players and we would lead the league in that too. Only in a world created by Rockets fans would that ever happen.
Brilliant post. haha. Except I don't like Kobe's contract. Only NY can afford 3 Max contracts. Odom+Brown+Walton+Cook for Howard+ whoever we want to get ride of sounds better...This trade would give the team more depth.
I wanted to comment on this too yesterday, just wasn't sure b/c I hav't seen ppl commenting on signatures. 96.1 PPG + 40RPG + 25.6 APG...who needs a bench?
Most of stats are way over their best career numbers. That sort of thing would never happen under JVG.
That's pretty much how I feel ... to try to show people respect until time reveals the truth -- they will either be hated or loved for it here. That usually is a self-motivator for people to pass along solid info. Rookies can not start threads, and people generally respect their accounts' reputations here. When I first read it (in the NBA forum), it seemed to be an honest post from his point of view and since it was Rockets related, I moved it here. However, you have to look at the situation as a whole here. No disrespect to LakersPride, but he has nothing to lose... he's not a Rockets fan with any real stake in ClutchFans -- he's never posted here before today. I sent an email to him but didn't get a response (could be an old email). This "rumor" is eerily similar to a Hoopsworld article and a trade idea speculation thread started earlier today by another poster. He could just as easily be playing a prank with a handful of Lakers fans as he could be truthfully passing along valid information. Either way, there needs to be a little more meat on this to stay alive in the Rockets forum at ClutchFans. So for now I'm going to lock it -- it will still be on the BBS to read, so the glory or shame still comes later. More power to him if he gets this right. But this way, we won't have to keep this thread at the top of the forum without any real substance (with newbies ripping LakersPride or begging for the latest) until there is something to confirm it. I will re-open it once something can shed more light on this either way. If you want to discuss hypothetically Juwan trade ideas to the Lakers, I suggest Old Man Rock's trade idea thread here.
