Agree. Lets get real, the Lakers are not trading Odom. Makes no sense. He had a solid season and a good series against the suns. No way we get him for Howard.
I AM IN LOVE WITH YOUR HANDLE. WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF IT? I AM COMPLETELY SERIOUS. please let me be your bbs hanger-on?
I don't understand the Mihm hate. He's an expiring contract even if he's totally useless. Getting an expiring contract for Juwan gives the team some financial flexibility under the luxury tax limit in the next two years. Besides, Mihm is not useless. At the very least, he's the Caucasian Cato, and that's not a bad thing to have for this team. If Yao gets hurt, somebody not named Dikembe has to cover his minutes.
Hey, thanks for the info, LakerPride. True or not, I appreciate you sharing your info because it does not seem you're hear to gloat, brag or boast, or even demand attention. I hope you're right so that all these people who blast you learn a little lesson in humility.
I don't think that many are being haters, sure there are some but I think most are just a little skeptic and there is nothing disrespectful or wrong about that. Just because someone says they have their sources and can't reveal them does that mean everyone should bow down and worship him? Of course not and they also shouldn't bash him. It looks like LakersPride has just as many bashers as he does thankers, the rest seem to be the wait and see crowd.
Guys, It's a 3-way. Howard to LA. Mihm and Mckie to Portland, and............Darius Miles to Houston. You read it here first. There may be another player or two involved but this makes sense.
Haven't you heard? We are trading Juwan Howard for Phil Jackson! And just like Avery Johnson, Jackson will take over from JVG in the middle of the season!
Some of these negative comments are ridiculously hostile and borderline threatening. His ass is on the line? You wouldn’t want to be him if he’s wrong? You’ve got to be kidding me. Relax, people. If he’s wrong, just what exactly happens to this guy? Nothing. He goes away. Seeing as how he’s been registered for years without posting, I don’t that will be a huge issue for him anyway. If the info turns out to be correct -- outstanding. We have someone else on the board with a legitimate inside source, presuming he isn’t scared away. As someone else said, if it turns out he really has a legitimate inside source, but the deal never pans out, everybody will rag on him incessantly and he’ll never post another potential scoop again. I sure wouldn’t. If this indeed turns out to be untrue? So what? If you got all worked up and bothered over a NBA trade rumor on the internet, that’s most definitely your problem. You should know better than to take these kind of reports to heart. I understand you can’t have people flooding the boards all day with fiction, but there would never be any scoops at all if people weren’t allowed to post stuff like this. It’s clearly labeled RUMOR in the thread title. Anyway, my thoughts on the rumored deal-- I’m all for unloading Juwan. Seeing as how it’s being mentioned as “Lakers acquiring Juwan Howard,” that pretty much means he’d be the biggest name in the trade. I know beggars can’t be choosers, so I really don’t mind who it would be for, as long as our return isn’t a WORSE contract or a guy who is detrimental to the team. And honestly, I don’t see anyone on the Lakers who would fit that description, except for maybe Kwame Brown, and I really doubt he’d be involved in the deal anyway. So yeah, after two years of clamoring for Juwan’s departure (nice guy, good work ethic, mediocre player, bad fit) I’d be totally content with landing Mihm or Cook and filler. Hell, I’d probably just take filler at this point. Ideally, I’d like a trade to somehow include Walton. He’s one of those intangibles players and (I think) one of the key reasons that the Lakers played better in the latter part of last season. I however don’t have any fancy per-minute statistics to back me up on this. And I’m far from a Lakers expert, but I’m pretty sure he’s considered to excel at passing into the post, which would be beneficial to the Rockets for obvious reasons. Trading Juwan would pretty much clear up speculation on where Battier will play this season, as well as be a pretty strong indicator that the Rockets have faith that Chuck Hayes can log heavy minutes in the Rockets rotation. If we indeed get Mihm, I’m not really sure how we’d use him – I don’t see either him or Mutombo playing next to Yao in the power forward spot. But this could all be empty speculation. In all likelihood, Juwan Howard is our starting power forward this year. I'll be pleasantly surprised if something does happen, but won't count on it.
