Looks like Barry is next. They'll be at 15 players then. I can see them using cook for a deal as well...
So much for White becoming the next Gerald Wallace or whatever it was people were saying Best of luck to him.
Seems like an odd transaction. Couldn't the nuggets have just waited til we waived him and picked him up on a 10 day contract?
I don't get it. I saw him dunking on youtube and heard he is 6'7". Doesn't that mean he was going to give the Rockets 25/5/5 as the starting SG? No wonder the team is short on talent. Morey isn't watching enough youtube videos to scout the players.
White has a non-guaranteed deal. Herville was never going to be a Nugget. No downside to Denver. This was purely a favor from the Rockets to White. They could have kept White on the team until just before the start of the regular season without White being guaranteed anything (other than training camp money).
Ugh. I hate this move. I was a fan of White. Thought he showed immense progress in his shooting and on-court ability, aside from jumping. He was in the weight room and on the court all summer, and, just the potential he had was intriguing. You don't find many players with his length, athleticism and speed, and also the willingness to want to get better.
great move by morey. We lose a guy we were going to cut anyways, but save the money of buying him out. While still acquiring a trade chip.
This is a brilliant move in my opinion. We were going to cut him no matter what if you consider the situation. Instead of letting him walk for nothing, we got a low 2nd round out of him. We lost nothing and gained something.
No biggie. He looked lost last season and lost in the summer league. I was looking forward to him representing Houston in the dunk contest, but that's not of terrible importance.
Yeah, if he was set on cutting White anyway, Morey did a great job getting atleast something in return. But I really wanted to see White try and earn it in training camp. I think he would have surprised a lot of people.
Yeah. Isn't it really easy to score if you can dunk from the free throw line? I mean, you can just run it up every play and jump.
Nugs didn't want to use a roster spot on a guaranteed contract unless it was someone they really wanted (see: Murray, Flip). They like White as a project, but like him even more in the ability to flip him in a deal with another player for a team looking to save a little money. Herville will probably never see the NBA.
Rockets find another good home for another unwanted player.. Im glad to hear something from the rockets.. offseason is unbearable..
With White traded and Barry not coming back, Taylor is our backup 2 and Budinger our backup 3; good that these young guys will have playing time but not a lot of depth in those positions. Maybe Morey now thinks Tmac is likely to be ready by opening night.
