http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6631489.html By JONATHAN FEIGEN Copyright 2009 Houston Chronicle Sept. 22, 2009, 3:15PM With little wiggle room left on the roster less than a week before training camp, the Rockets traded guard James White to Denver, largely to give him a better chance to stick with an NBA team, a person with knowledge of the move said Tuesday. The Rockets will receive the draft rights to guard Axel Hervelle, a 6-9 power forward from Belgium. Hervelle will likely remain with Real Madrid, where he is a teammate with guard Sergio Llull, a Rockets’ second-round acquisition in June. He averaged 8.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in 21 minutes per game last season. Hervelle, 26,became the first Belgian player drafted by an NBA team when he was selected by the Nuggets in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2005 Draft.
Good move to give White a shot and to free up a roster space. White was never going to make it with the Rockets.
no james white..... cant say im suprised. kinda stinks. the guy has some unbelievable jumping ability.
Since Wite was not destined to take flite in H-Town this is either a yawner or ... if the Belgian lad has some game in the future then it's an enlightened move.
this is about all the highlights of the new asset(he won't play here) <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Z30RUri1n5U&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Z30RUri1n5U&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> the first guy.
Aww..I was hoping White would bring the dunking energy to the team, but lets welcome the 6'9 Belgium.
Good move. Not that I think the guy the Rockets get in return is going to make the team; but it reduces the roster closer to 15.
