Alexey Shved is the most talented russian young player. He'll come to the NBA this offseason, his agent confirmed that. DraftExpress have reported that OKC, Minny and Memphis are the teams in the mix for him. His agent Obrad Fimic also added that Rockets and Hawks made some calls to him about Shved and they are interested in his client's services. Morey actually was in Moscow in the end of the March to watch this guy http://lockerz.com/s/194141491 http://lockerz.com/s/194492917 Jonathan Givony named Shved a complete offensive player in his tweets and said that he will seek 3 years 10M Deal in the NBA, but Alexey's agent said that this is not true. He said that no one would pay his client that amount of money and playing time is his priority number one. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/1z4ADVvJK_g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> His DraftExpress Profile
As active as he is, how will he handle the refs in the NBA, because he's not going to get any calls if we pick him up.
One spanish magazine says that likely will end in Minny with Ricky. His game... think about Rudy Fernandez (Rudy's european game more than american game). Probably has even better physical conditions. Has played PG minutes in Europe but he's a SG in the NBA. DX profile is very out of date. But interesting NBA prospect without a doubt.
we must sign him! there has been an inflation in houston with hot glorious russian chicks. with this move, we can get them all to come out to toyota center. Get it done, maury! not as important as getting russian chicks out TC, but acquiring him can give the rockets a lot of flexibility in the back court, if either lee/goran/lowry are not back.
Not sure about the Fernadez comparison, but I agree that he'll be better suited at SG. He's probably capable of playing some point, but I think his destiny is to be a combo/scoring guard off the bench.
Nowadays a SG. I'd say a 6-7 SG -in shoes-, with good wingspan, good ball-handling, passing and shooting abilities. Also good athleticism. On the other hand, weak body, weak defensively (with interesting potential, however). Really don't understand why a player like him was not drafted... Contract issues? Not interested in the NBA at that moment? I don't know. But the player is interesting, for sure.
Nice find, _RTM_. Thanks... Outside of the weather in Minnesota, I don't see how the Rockets could compete with the T-Wolves.... Major playing time opportunity at two-guard Like Rockets, plenty of cap room Play with Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love Play for offensive-minded coach in Rick Adelman
plus..enough for another foreigner who would still get acclimated with the NBA style of play...remember that DMo is already coming.
Cool, another 1 for the white contingent. Looks good, but don't see much that gush greatness. Or even all star level.
Even the weather might work in the T-Wolves favor here actually. Not sure about Shved's preferences as far weather is concerned, but Minneapolis isn't too different from Russia/Moscow.
