Out of curiosity, how long have you been a Houston fan?

This inability to get stars extends beyond the NBA.

    Fvcknut.

There are exceptions, but stars want to go to Miami, LA, and NYC, coastal cultural meccas, or a team with a perceived guaranteed championship (Golden State, etc.). I love Houston and Houston culture, but it's simply not viewed the same way by young rich dudes as these destination cities. This isn't unique to Houston. You could equally ask why _____ has had so much trouble getting stars to go there, for the vast majority of NBA teams.

If tech money moves to Texas like we’ve been seeing, we’ll be in business. We’ll have oil and tech. Who wouldn’t want to come down for that?!

‘Don’t want to play like this’: James Harden told Warriors’ Steph Curry he hated Rockets’ isolation offense

A video of the 2019 All-Star Weekend has emerged in which James Harden laments about the Rockets’ iso style offense to Stephen Curry.

The All-Star break is one of the best times in the NBA. The biggest stars from all around the league gather at one place and celebrate the game. In 2019, the All-Star Game was held in Charlotte.

Also Read: “Russell Westbrook is a solo star in a team sport: Skip Bayless”

The 2019 All-Star Game was a star-studded battle between Team Giannis and Team LeBron. Stephen Curry was a part of Team Giannis and was recorded talking to team coach Mike Budenholzer. There he was telling Mike about a conversation he had with Harden earlier during the break.

“He doesn’t want to play like this”: Stephen Curry recalls conversation with James Harden
In this video, Stephen Curry is seen recalling his conversation with James Harden.

The Warriors star revealed that Harden hated Rockets’ isolation style offense and wanted more ball movement, contrary to Harden’s image in the league.

Stephen Curry congratulated Harden for his tremendous performance throughout the season. Steph Curry was seen saying the following:

“I talked to James [Harden] in the back…obviously complimented him on what he’s done. First thing he says is, it’s fun, but I want to play different. Playing by myself or w/e, heroball — he doesn’t want to play like that. He wants a system where they can actually play beautiful basketball.”

You can watch the video here

This conversation happened back in 2019 when Chris Paul was still a part of the Rockets. The Rockets had faced the Warriors in the WCF the previous season. The Warriors had barely managed to scrape a 4-3 victory, even though they had KD.

Also Read: “That’s completely fabricated: Russell Westbrook on reports of a rift with James Harden”

What does this conversation mean? Does it affect the current date Rockets too?
Since this conversation took place in 2019, the first conclusion that can be drawn is that he was referring to his troubles with Chris Paul. When Chris Paul got traded, it was revealed that things were tense between both the stars and the two hadn’t actually talked in over 2 months prior to their last game together.

Even now, things don’t seem very different from as they were with Chris Paul. Russ just asked for a trade, the Rockets got eliminated in the second round again, and Harden is back once again to being a one-man scoring machine. If James Harden still feels the same way as he did back then, the Rockets need to change their style of play, or risk losing their biggest star.

Are we believing this . .. . if so what does it mean?

Actually, I thought you were in your late teens/early 20's since you've consistently demonstrated the logical reasoning of a child.

Exactly. But Morey has fans here that'll protect his image at all cost. He CODDLED James his whole tenure here, and its taken its toll on the reputation of the organization. I've been saying this for YEARS here, even suggested we trade him for Lillard, and Morey's fanboyz labeled me a troll. Now all of sudden Harden’s replaceable? I was 100% correct that Harden’s ego is out of control. Thanks Daryl

Trade harden for Lillard? Yeah no thanks. I’m not trading the better player for the inferior one in return

I don't agree with your premise here that we've had trouble getting stars to come to Houson. We've had 3 all star players who wanted to come to the team since 2012, all three wanted to come and play with James Harden. There are 30 teams in the NBA, can you name all the teams who have had more (4 or more) all stars who have chosen to come to their team in that time?

You have to consider why Dwight/CP3/Westbrook wanted to come. Dwight thought he and Harden would lead the Rockets together. CP3 came for money. Westbrook because of his relationship with Harden.

As to teams who have signed 4 or more all-stars since 2012, there are probably a lot (especially if you include re-signing FA/RFA all-stars). Lakers, Clippers, Pacers, Warriors, Cavaliers, Nets, Thunder, Celtics.....there are probably more.

    LOL

Very few teams have ever fielded 4 current All Stars at same time. There is reason GSW is known as the greatest team ever assembled.

But you keep on brown nosing GSW.

It was easier when we were allowed to build through the draft, so yes, it was easier before Harden.
