At times throughout the year, some posters start threads to pose a trade idea. If lots of people post trade ideas, it clutters up the forum, so we decided in 2006 to try to have one thread for "random trade ideas" that are not based on news involving the Rockets. They are simply, "What do you think about... " scenarios.

Here are the rules of the "Random Trade Idea" thread.

    1) Keep your trade ideas realistic. We all know why the Rockets would want a superstar ... but try to ask the question "Why does it make sense for the other team?"

    2) Don't be a jerk. There are going to be unrealistic scenarios posted ... just point out to them why it couldn't happen, if you feel so inclined. Report the post as ludicrous if you must, but don't nuke the poster and call them names. It spirals the thread down.

Brewer+montrezl to Sacramento for gay, with agreement he opts out this off season.

Improves our bench scoring and gains added flexibility.

    Low risk, medium reward.

Although I would rather trade out Montrez for Dekker, Innis, picks, overseas players or someone else, IF DMo is not resigned soon.

Dmo + Wiltjer + Sam for Noel

    I wish

But seriously there has to be some kind of trade that goes down. Especially if they work out something with Dmo right?

I would love to acquire a package of Noel, Holmes and Covington from the Sixers...not sure how much this would cost us though...a package like D.Mo, Pat, Brewer, Harrell? Not sure...

I hope ATL has a bad start, I think Milsap is a better fit here than Hortford. It sounds like he might be available if they get off to a poor start

I would really like to find a way to get Avery Bradley on this team. He would fit nicely with Harden and Gordon

What does Noel bring to this team? We are trading 3 players with more promise for a hot pile of garbage. I am not sold on Noel in the slightest. He has a questionable attitude, bad knee injury in the past, and outside of a few athletic blocks he is like paper in the wind on D. I am all for being wrong on my analysis, but I am not sold until proven wrong.

I'm with you on the hoping Atlanta starts off poorly. But not in the Millsap aspect. Don't get me wrong I would love Millsap and think he would be a great fit but I don't think we have the correct pieces.

But I would like to target some of their role players. Korver and thabo specifically

    Kj/Dekker/montrezl to Atlanta for korver/thabo.

Those are both upgrades and expiring contracts at the loss of mediocre potential at best. Also opens up a roster spot.

Thabo isn't much anymore but is still a decent 9-10 bench player. Korver is the real get. He is great off the ball with constant movement and an elite catch n shoot player. He had a down year last year so that seems like the best time as ever to acquire him. He would fit perfectly in MDAs motion offense and next to harden. He's not great defensively but he puts in effort and is average. I'm past his Utah days.

3s 3s 3s and more 3s is the motto right?

Millsap will be a free agent next summer. Nobody wants to pay a 32 year old with knee issues. He will demand $20M annually and at least three years. We're good with Anderson.

And please get Korver out of your mind. He turns 36 in march and last year was not "a down" but strong signs of degression. No way he could handle D'Antoni's up-tempo style. If he's willing to sign for the minimum or anything close in summer, maybe he's worth a try. But you don't give up something of value at this time.

Would love a high 3 pt % PG like Patty Mills off the bench. Would take Jose Calderon if they took Brewer off of us.

We need a pick and roll big man who can also pick and pop. Sounds like our second round draft pick from China.

Milsap would be worth it, his game hasn't slowed at all, we have two years with James, got maximize it. No real time to develop the youngsters

Worth what? Giving up key assets? Let's give Anderson a try first. If that's not working out, Morey can still go after Millsap in summer. Spend big for a player that might decrease or leave in July wouldn't be too smart. I'm also curious to find out how Millsap is doing without Horford. The Hawks wanted to keep him and get rid of Millsap instead, let's see if they had a point.

    Defense and rebounding.

Would trade those three scrubs for him in a heat beat as would 99% of people. Where did you get he has a questionable attitude? That's news to me. He's 100% healthy too no lingering knee issues. He would fit very nice in MDAs system.
