The problem is getting him the ball. A turnover usually happens when they try to force it to Yao, and that's exactly what happened in the 4th quarter. He did get lucky one play when Aldridge reached in though. Yao should have stuck to pick-and-rolls and pick-and-pops IMO. Yao in the post should still be the first option but if it's not there then they need to quickly do something else. Yao can still be a factor in other ways.

I know what the team did wrong, but this was merely a point of saying this isn't really a "play off game" caliber. Refs should never try to control the game.

Non call on Aldridge's 6th when it was 93 96 that caused Scola to knock the rebound out of bounds was the key to the game. Even the heavily biased Portland PBP called it. Roy drains a 3 after this and game was over

Yao's awareness is not as good tonight. Missing blocks and a bit late in helping defense. Like when Blake drove in for a layup at the end, Yao wasn't even aware.

Brook need to shoot more instead of passing to Artest. Why let Artest shoot when you're a better shooter. Just because Artest is one of a leaders, doesn't mean he has the right to destroy the team by jacking 3s.

The team need to play smart like Lowry and Wafer. When you know they're in foul trouble, keep attacking and try to draw fouls, that's what these 2 guys did to help get back into the game.

Really? Because to me it means :

    1. they didnt quit
    2. 2 games in a row aaron shot great, he's out of his slump from the reg season..
    3. they can't really stop him
    4. after all the missed free throws and bad calls we still ALMOST stole this game

    Great post!

    An addendum:

Every minute Wafer is on the floor is a good minute. Artest is your fool's gold. Wafer? He constantly attacks, goes to the line and puts their bigs in foul trouble.

    Portland is done!

The argument can be made that we got favoured in game 1 aswell. It is weak too even begin talking about officiating. Portland's second best player was in foul trouble and we decided to shoot threes. Portland attacked the paint, we refused to yet the foul count was very close. Imagine the calss we could have gotten if we weren't a bunch was Ray Allen wannabees.

Because Roy was butt raping Artest, so coach got Battier back in to check him.

shooting free throws is not that simple...especially in playoffs..with a loud crowd distracting you...you gonna make some and miss some.

    Our D was atrocious!
On the offensive end, we have to pick-and-roll/pop with Yao and get their bigs in foul trouble before Flopzilla, crybaby Roy, and old man Oden get Yao in foul trouble and ruin the flow of our game!

The REAL issue with tonight's game

Dikembe went out if most of you didn't notice. Sure the officiating was questionable, but thats the NBA. Why are you all so focused on the officiating and not the appreciation threads for Mutombo? We just lost a great player and even better human on our team. :( Seeing his postgame interview made me think of how humble he is. He didnt complain about any of the officiating in the interview, but was rather thankful for his 18 years in the league. We all just witnessed the ending of a great career.

    Thanks Mutombo.

No the argument isn't valid if the team loses by nearly 30 points. That's a huge difference between Game 1 and Game 2 in which the calls could not have turned it around. This was completely different.

First of all, absolutely awful officiating. Its like they were going to make sure the Portland fans couldn't blame the refs this game. Wow. Such bad calls all game. Poor Scola. He was definitely being picked on.

I also noticed Hayes played really well. So did Wafer. Heck, it was all and all a good showing by the whole team. Give us some reasonable calls and we win that game IMO.

Now its time to hold down the TC. Now its time to hold down the TC.

Yao has a good outside shot, I agree. He just needs to keep shooting them, not stop after missing one. If Yao had kept going to the pick and pop, he would have more than 6 FG attempts.
