Bonzi + Snyder + Sura for Maggette Bonzi could be a good 1yr rental for the clipper's playoff run; Snyder is a good replacement for Corey to back Cat and Ross up and he won't complain for not starts; and they'll like Sura's expiring contract. We should also consider Earl Watson, he's a great defender and playmaker and mentally tough. I'd trade Rafer for Watson, damm, even T-Mac+Allston for Allen+Watson. Yao Ming, Deke C. Hayes, Howard, Padgett, Novak S. Battier, Maggette McGrady, Head Watson, VSpan, JL3
any1 wants francis back? he can be the sixth man and the third option, francis/tmac backcourt is sick. trade wells/sura/howard for francis/cato
You will get flamed for your suggestion, but I've always considered bringing Francis back an intriguing idea. A package of Bonzi, Howard, Sura, Novak, and a 1st round pick would (A) give NY some cap space and (B) give them two nice assets (Novak and the pick). The Magic traded Francis for about the same thing. If Bonzi didn't work out in NY, they could always cut him. I like the Rockets using Alston, Francis, Head, T-Mac, and Battier as a five man rotation at the 1, 2, and 3 - lots of different ways to go there, depending on match-ups. The Rockets still need a guy who can come off the bench and get his own shot, like Stackhouse does for the Mavs. Francis is good enough to be a third option/sixth man on a championship team.
I get a headache just reading some of the posts suggesting we trade for francis or use a injury ridden Sura as trade bait. The biggest missing link in the Rockets game is a tough inside player, ala Zach Randolph. Someone who has post up skills with some outside touch, and rebounds the ball. It doesn't even have to be a PF. In fact, a healthy bonzi is just that player, but his attitude gets in the way. The Rockets will not get what his potential worth is in any trade unless he is displayed in games showing he's some form of the player he was in Sac-Town. A team may take a waiver on him since his contract is a bargain, but I don't see why that team can't be the Rockets. Put him on the court if his hammy feels good, and let him play. Afterall, I agree with what Bill Worrell said on Wednesday night, the Rockets are soft. They need a jerk like Bonzi on this team to take it to the basket when McFraidy settles for outside jumpers. If they can move him for the type of player mentioned above by all means do so, but I doubt they'll get the same kind of bargain or potential. With that being said, Wells, put down the whipped cream and get to work! FYI: McGrady is on pace to average over 100 less free throw attempts this season....take it to the hole mofo, late.
just to make it clear Sura, Novak, VSpan and possibly Howard are going nowhere I don't think anyone will leave the Rox besides Mr Wells himself Ya'll wait and see
I don't know, I think Philly is going to have to throw in Iggy and a pick just for us to take Iverson off their hands. I am not sure I want to give up a Fat player, a broken down player, a backup PG and a bad contract. Just too much value there!
More realistically, are there any teams with either cap space or a trade exception that would both want Bonzi and would be getting a decent pick? It's going to be a deep draft. Bonzi for a draft pick might be the best possible situation.
I would love to land AI, but unfortunately that's near damn impossible. Unless, unless AI demanding a trade to Houston. I would consider anyone beside Yao and Tmac for AI. What is AI contract like?
I WANT AI god please... make him demand to come to the ROX... do what it takes... aside from Tmac and Yao... btw I like the last few trade scenarios Howard has got to be in the mix since he has 8 mil coming too him? and AI has 14 mil?
howard+sura+alston+bonzi+pick for AI could change battier for howard but dunno if i'd do it then, but seriously we dont even play sura (most likely retire anyways) or bonzi so basically its howard and alston for AI.
How much of a cut do the Rockets get for jersey sales. Aren't AI, T-Mac, and Yao the top three selling jerseys in China?
Then forget about AI. We simply don't have the assets in young players and cap space that the sixers would want...and I really don't see AI demanding a trade to Houston in particular... AI will likely go to a team with a glut of young talented players at a particular position and a team with expiring contracts. That is what the sixers need. They should seriously go into rebuilding mode.
i doubt we could get either AI or KG (the two biggest trade rumoured players) to become a rocket w/o trading yao or tmac, but then again we got bonzi and snyder for practically nothing. anything can happen imo
Well Garnett did pretty much DEMAND that the Wolves go after him... AI, James and Garnett might actually make some noise in the west...but probably only to the 2nd round...and then Minny would have sold their future and could become lottery regulars for the next decade. How do you trade someone with AI's contract?
