i forgot about the number 1 picks yeah realistically it would look like that. but think about it they arent gonna be worth that much if we are a good team right now (Late first round and JVG doesnt play rookies). but if that's what seattle wants i would do it in a heartbeat. If Rashard comes to houston, he's not gonna leave and we get another 3,4 who shoots the three and van gundy would actually play
I mean look how many 1st round draft picks San Antonio, Dallas, Miami and Phoenix kept this year. The answer is 1, Maurice Ager. If you want to be a championship team now sometimes you gotta trade assets like picks.
I don't think Juwon is going anywhere we will probably just trade Bonzi for a first round pick thats all hopefully we can send him to a weak team and get a good draft pick
Not that big a deal. I'd do it. This year's #1 is going to be somewhere between 27-30 or so probably. Basically an extra salary for a player that probably is not going to even make the rotation. Essentially we would be giving up 1 #1 pick, and if we made that pick the 2009 pick, odds are it would be at best a pick in the low teens.....at best. I think the more I see of this team that a trade of this magnitude would not only make us a contender, it would make us a dynasty for the next 3-5 years. And Rashard has the power to force this deal to go down..............if we want him. All he has to do is say he is opting out and will not re-sign with Seattle and he will not re-sign with any team, until they hit on a deal with the Rox. It's another McGrady scenario where Seattle either has to throw the max at him to entice him to stay or they have to call his bluff that he doesn't really mean he won't re-sign, or they trade him. Can you imagine a rotation of Yao, McGrady, Battier, Hayes, Shard, Rafer, Earl Watson, Billy, and Snyder when he gets back? With a deep bench of VSpan, Deke, Scottie, and JLIII?
On second thought, still can't see Seattle doing that trade without us throwing in something else like VSpan. They know how good we would be and they know those picks would be lower first rounders.
Man, i would throw vspan in there if they requested him. Van Gundy expresses his disgust for V-Spans turnovers in the post game interview. Plus Seattle just stated that if they dont start winning, they are in firesale mode meaning shard goes first for cap relief and probally picks. Any deal for rashard that lets us keep yao, hayes, battier, mcgrady, alston, and head is a good deal. We get to keep our six best players and get watson and lewis. why would any of you turn this down if we give up novak or draft picks?
No weak team would want Bonzi and certainly not for a high draft pick. The Heat might possibly want him as an addtional scorer to help in their title run in the playoffs. I hope we get something good out of a trade although I would like to see him get in shape and play for the Rockets. I would hate to see us get nothing of value like we did with DA.
How about this: Seattle Trade Breakdown Outgoing Rashard Lewis 6-10 SF from Alief Elsik (HS) 20.1 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.3 apg in 36.9 minutes Mouhamed Sene 7-0 from Senegal (Foreign) No games yet played in 2005/06 Incoming Bonzi Wells 6-5 SG from Ball State 13.6 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 2.8 apg in 32.4 minutes Steve Novak 6-9 from Marquette No games yet played in 2005/06 Rafer Alston 6-2 PG from Frenso State 12.1 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 6.8 apg in 38.6 minutes Juwan Howard 6-9 PF from Michigan 11.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.7 minutes Change in team outlook: +17.4 ppg, +13.4 rpg, and +8.7 apg. Houston Trade Breakdown Outgoing Bonzi Wells 6-5 SG from Ball State 13.6 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 2.8 apg in 32.4 minutes Steve Novak 6-9 from Marquette No games yet played in 2005/06 Rafer Alston 6-2 PG from Frenso State 12.1 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 6.8 apg in 38.6 minutes Juwan Howard 6-9 PF from Michigan 11.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.7 minutes Incoming Rashard Lewis 6-10 SF from Alief Elsik (HS) 20.1 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.3 apg in 36.9 minutes Mouhamed Sene 7-0 from Senegal (Foreign) No games yet played in 2005/06 I realize this promotes a mistake-prone V-Span, but this gets us Rashard and a very young, athletic PF-C who could really shine with Yao. JL3 and T-Mc could run the point while JVG gives V-Span an earful at various points of the game. Also, this gives us a lineup of V-Span, T-Mc, Rashard, Sene and Yao with Battier (6th man with lots of minutes) and Synder, Luther and Hayes as the primary backups.
I don't see Seattle biting on any deal that involves Howard and his overpaid ass, although it's the only way we can make a trade work without giving up someone of significance. If they're really that deperate to trade Shard though, I'd give up Howard, Bonzi, Novak, V-Span, and two 1sts in a second.
Lewis is playing well for Seattle right now. If they feel he has to be traded they can get better offers from other teams.
Sure they can........if Rashard agrees not to opt out or otherwise agrees to an extension. Rashard has to want to go to where he is traded for Seattle to get a better deal. Rashard is holding the keys, not them.
DA wasn't really worth anything in the first place. At least Bonzi has potential to return to form if he's motivated. Besides, didn't we get the trade exception that turned into Kirk Snyder when we traded DA? Or maybe that was someone else.
here are my trade suggestions: howard, bonzi = kwame bonzi = cook howard, bonzi = madsen, james sura, bonzi = fortson bonzi = collison sura, bonzi = etan thomas sura, bonzi = joe smith i tihnk the lakers are playing too well to make a move right now, but maybe by january or february they will be willing. they have a lot of bigs and we could use a good F/C. i'm not sure if the sonics can make any trades until they decide whats going on with thier management, or if there is a situation with thier management, but they could use depth at the 2/3 and have plenty of 4/5.
And the answer is 1 because the 2006 draft was one of the weakest drafts in a very long time. The 2007 draft is going to be one of the strongest drafts in recent memory.
Actually, getting Rashard from Seattle is a pipe dream. However, considering the injury to Ray Allen, they might go for a Bonzi - Sene trade. They get a talented 2-guard and we get an athletic PF-C with loads of potential.
In your scenario you are starting Sene over Battier? You must be really excited by that 1 rebound and 1/3 of a point per game average he is bringing in.
