The comments are way angrier than the people in the video. The people competing in the sport knew what the deal was apparently. I don't know if that is because they know the rules, honor, discipline, but there was no real outrage from Tereg Hamedi losing the chance to win the first gold medal for his country, just simple disappointment. People (casuals) like to be outraged.
I haven't checked comments from the karate kata event but I imagine comments are like "wut da fook is dis shiet?? Air punching and screaming...I do dis in shower every day!"
US women's volleyball was solid in that gold medal game. That's the domination I expect from our teams.

NBC lack of streaming on Peacock was a big missed opportunity. Also, US came back in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs (metaphor, people) to steal the most Gold Medals title (already had locked up the most medals) from China (39-38). 3 Golds on Sunday (Tokyo time) to pull it out the win.
Heh, I don't care that much about winning the most golds but i definitely care that we denied China's government the opportunity to do so.
Completely agree with this assessment. The Olympics have been a financial burden on host cities for the last few decades at least. It just doesn't make sense to continue in it's current model. Find a permanent site or a handful of rotating sites around the world with the infrastructure already in place to host the games. Downloaded the app for it just to watch that. I can't believe they did peacock "premium" like Hulu with their sneaky ad tier. Not sure if they're self aware what Tier they are with streaming apps.
