Duplantis nearly with a 6.19m, too bad he couldn't do it. Had more than enough height but hit the bar at the last moment.
I had to look up the other runners' times in the race compared to other race times so far in 2021. From what I could find, the top 6 finishers in that race ended up with the 6 fastest times run so far in the 400m hurdles this year. The 7th place finisher had the 10th fastest time run this year. Crazy.
easing up at the line in these preliminary heats is so dumb to me. Just run through the line. easing up is not giving you any added benefit except for style points.
Gabby Thomas Bronze in the 200.. She's about to parlay that 3rd place into some money. Crazy how it wasn't spoiled for me. I knew Elaine won but I didn't see that Gabby Thomas got some hardware. I thought she must have lost horribly if she wasn't mentioned. I saw that Prandini girl got 13th but that's it.
Happy for her, I didn't know she revealed her aunt died days before her event. Who knows what was going on with her and her family during these Olympic events. Simone Biles reveals that her aunt died during Tokyo Olympics
This was another race I was waiting for, but not surprised they broke the record again. Coming into the event Sydney had stepped her game up and already broken the record about a month ago. Those two basically pushed each other to another scorching record.
To me Athing Mu is the new star of the olympics. She's only 19 and going to be dominating for a long long time.
Let’s see if she can still monetize her success. She won her race with a WR record time and is insanely attractive…but will her lack of charisma hold her back?
